The steeler swapped the ecm and the bike runs on two cylinders. Sadly a new ecm here in Scotland is £411 of our pounds. And that's before fitting and flashing to the right map for the bike.

replace it with a Daytona twin tec ECM-tuner with wide band O2 sensors and auto tuning, best tuner on the market and the bike will always run at best performance

Hi,
Just wondering what was wrong with your bike in the end when it threw up the P1355 code.

Post #17 states that the ECM was bad.

This out of range voltage occurs when the ECM tries to fire the coil by grounding the Y/BE (yellow with blue stripe) wire that connects the coil "C" circuit to ECM pin #11. Four things can cause this:
  1. a short to voltage on the Y/BE wire
  2. a bad ECM
  3. a bad coil
  4. a bad piggyback device
Since you replaced the coil and removed the PC you only have two other sources of the problem.
I am having the same problem on my 2006 Dyna Wide Glide. I replaced the coil but did not fix the problem.

1. What's the Y/BE wire?
2. Is there a way to test the ECM?
3. Is there a way to test the coil other than on the bike? (Maybe I swaped in another
bad one)

I don't have technical data on Dyna models so I'm not sure if the VRSC wiring color codes are the same but:
  1. The Y/BE wire for VRSC bikes is used to fire the coil by connecting this wire to ground through an electronic switch in the ECM.
  2. There are no ECM tests mentioned in the VRSC EDMs (electrical diagnostic manuals). If the coil tests (various coil tests are explained in the EDM) are good, an ECM malfunction is then considered to be a likely cause.
  3. I don't know what you mean by this. Coil resistance tests can be performed either on or off the bike.
