Can anyone tell me where to get these pipes, and if they will fit on an 09 DX. Just what I have been looking for.

Building it this winter, lots of questions to come I'm sure !

I bought a 09 Night Rod Special (Flat Black). I am in the process of putting together the parts list. Exhaust seems to be one of my stumbling blocks. I have ridden roadglides for the past 7 years and love em to death, but I want the power and liquid cooled engine of the v-rod. The last two glides I ran 2-1 Thunderheaders, and love the pipe, I am leaning towards trying that on the road rod. If anyone has any input please let me know. I am a new member as of today, so Hello to All !

The Thunderheader only fits to 2008 .... The TH for the V-Rod is a slip on pipe that uses the stock headers... In 2009 the aux. volume and the front header are 1 piece - so no slip-on's...

If you really have your mind set on the TH you can easily get 2008 header pipes and then you will be all set...
let me know if I can help out with any parts you might need...

thanks guys for the input. I guess I'll have to price out the difference between the thunderheaders, and my next choice, the bub jug huggers. Those 2 pipes seem to have the closest sound to a regular harley, that will fit with the road rod without much modification. Also any input on apes for the bike, I have 20" Wild One Psycho Chubbys on my roadglide now, and thats the look and feel I want for this bike, I like the "Ghostrider Customs" bars but they only make up to a 12" rise.

Hey Merlinhawaii,

Just picked up a "New" 08 NightRod yesterday (5 miles on it. It was won in a raffle!) Sure like what you've done to yours. Bags and a fairing are a must. Was your build from a kit or was it all fabricated? Any info you could offer will greatly help me. Gotta have bags and a fairing.
