It is illogical. If you release the most powerful version of an item, far fewer people are going to want a weaker version, than the other way around.

Who would want to buy a weaker computer? A weaker garden tractor? A weaker motorcycle? Etc., etc., etc.. The majority of people would rather upgrade than downgrade. Yes?

Not always, think about yamaha's MT-1, MT-09 and MT-07. Noticeably different power points and price points. Some people aren't comfortable with the power of an R1 motor in a naked bike but still want a hooligan bike so they go with the lower level.

You are correct. Dealing in absolutes is not wise. I'm speaking in terms of "more often than naught".

I said, "The majority of people would rather upgrade than downgrade.".

Haha fair enough. There are always the people out there that do believe there is a such thing as too much power and they would get themselves in trouble. Just like there are some people content with a bone stock bike.

I understand the better thing, but at the same time, the current package is wait till next year when its better and wait again because next year will be better. I am not saying that the 124 should be a full out motor, but it should be in a CVO as a full out motor. Just like the GT500, The ZR1, the Demon... Then offer it as an option. Not wait 30 years to get 29 inches. My thoughts are the same when the Revo was being made. I get the destroyer was not a good street motor but a scaled back 150HP version would have been.
I am not even sure I am making sense anymore. I did just get done reading some of Tassies comments.
