Anyway, I do love the V Rod, the modern technologies they put into it along with a decent size motor make it one of Harley's best ever in my opinion, it's a shame that they have stopped building it now.
And once upon a time, I did have a '78 Sportster with drag pipes and it had a way different sound than my stock V Rod, so I really want to do something to get more sound out of this bike, not sure about the full drag pipe sound of the Sportster, but louder anyway.
No apologies needed. I'm a Vrod noob myself and certainly not the guy to bust balls (seemingly very few guys like that on this forum anyway). Having read deeply here on this topic, the options are neigh infinite. Which stock exhaust do you have? You can get some real value for certain well-found SE parts and stock exhausts on eBay and the Danmoto is relatively inexpensive (Amazon has it for cryin' out loud). However, you might consider drilling some holes:
It has the advantage of being even more inexpensive, and if you start with small holes, you can always enlarge for more sound.
After that, there's the vmod, which is drilling out the factory baffles:https://www.1130cc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11787
You just need to find the intersection between your individual taste, desire for looks and budget. I only chime in because you mentioned sound as the only real factor and the Danmoto seems to be the most budget minded option. Drillbits are even more inexpensive.
