Most just make the internal socket. For seals only, this tool is not needed, nor is the compressor, however the forks will need to be flushed out with solvent and dried so the correct amount of fork oil (volume) is used. You cannot use the distance measurement if the forks are not broken down, which is the preferred method. For seals only, the top nut is removed and then just yank it apart as with any fork. A service manual is advisable for best results. Seal kit should come with new bushings , seal and wiper and spring clip. You need two kits.
