My S.E.s tach needle finally lights!

This message is for anyone who has a S.E. V-Rod or Fat Boy that's sick and tired of not being able to see the tach needle at night. Joe from Heavycycles installed his upgrade in my V-Rod yesterday and what a improvment! It's not very complacated and hardware quality is as good as it gets. I'm very proud to
say my S.E. is the first rolling V-Rod with this upgrade. I'm lucky to live close to
Joe and this sure makes it faster to get his upgrades. Anybody looking to fix this H.D. blunder get hold of Joe and let him fix it. You will not be sorry!!

thanks again for letting me "borrow" your bike for the pictures... glad you like the lighted needle

As soon as I finish the instructions, with the pictures, I'll have them available for all.

My 06 tach needle is almost impossible to see at night. I have not talked to my dealer yet but I don't expect much help on this problem.

Joe must have designed that light so he could find his pants.

bcoud, Call Joe @ heavycycles. He has a site here on the forum. My tach needle lights up like the speedo does an the numbers light up better. And the best part is it's not expensive! vrods vrod.

Is the Tach sealed when done

Joe,

Are there any problems with water ingress on the tach after the modification is complete? How are you sealing the units at the end of the mod? I recently rode my CVO at night and now see the NEED to get this mod done, but I want to make sure I'm not going to have any issues with the unit once it's done.

as long as the install instructions are followed properly, the tach is sealed just as well as it was before the mod. The install is not incredibly involved and takes about 45 minutes... including a bathroom break after removing the tach from the bike.

Yep, Joe even sent a fixed one over to me in the UK last month - he produces fantastic quality products but even more, he is a nice guy to deal with!!
