Dyno run, what do I need to know ?

American Eagle HD in Corinth is having dyno runs for $25 on monday as part of thier New Years Eve events.

Is there anything I should do or change before a dyno run? Any pointers?

Does anyone want to meet and ride over there ?

For $25 all you're going to get is a hp reading probably. They don't tune for that low. It's like when a place does a dyno shootout and you pay $20~ and they give it 3 pulls and give you a hp chart.

Just show up and get your hp numbers.

Bring your check book so they can repair it after revving it for 5 minutes for no reason whatsoever. Never understood these stupid events. They arent tuning it etc.. they are basically breaking your shite so a bunch of idiots can stand around with beer in hand saying "Dude thats loud" (Or "Dude thats not loud enough") then the argument over why your HP numbers are false anyways because (The weather, The Humidity, blah blah blah)save your money and your motor and stay away from it.

Hey Joe mechanic,
You think the Revo is that fragile? On one hand we boast of how well it's made and parade the Vrod is born video around like it's a bible and then afraid to run it? It's no different than when actually dyno-tuning or running the 1/4 miles or doing a hole shot, running the gears to red line......you know, riding the fockin thing for what it was made for. The Revo is well protected, red-line is well below any danger and besides, should something happen, it was already on it's way. Is it just a "biker event" thing to do? Of coarse it is, this is the new breed remember. Your breed.

Yeah listen to him. Because when they do a real dyno tune that costs $300+, they totally don't rev it to redline or anything. They just baby it and don't make any pulls that get close to where the real power is so it doesn't tax that Revo very hard at all.

That is total fockin' BS. They can not tune the entire range if they do not take it thru the entire range, which includes red-line. PERIOD! You obviously have no clue whatsoever. The Revo as do most all modern bikes have a rev-limiter, look it up "acid".

I did it a while back with my black widows and got 110 hp. I've got a Cobra auto tuner on it now, but I still plan on hitting up a dyno shootout to see what the changes are with my new 2-1. Just to get some numbers.
