Digital CVO tachometer with integrated shift light!!!

Hi people! I finally finished the tach project I had planned for around a year already after my bike's tach died, a common problem with these bikes from what I've seen and what my mech told me, apparently these bike's tachs fail at some point Nothing better than planning something and at the end being able to actually finish it

Basically had to cut open the stock CVO tach to remove the internals and reuse the casing. Tried to do it without cutting it with no success so there went the Dremel to the rescue

The actual tach/shift light I used is Autometer's "Digital Pro Shift System", in my case I had the level 2 (3188) but any of the level 1 will work also. Level 1 has only one shift light color and one RPM shift setting. Level 2 has changeable shift light color, launch mode (not sure if it can be used on the V...) and 5 different shift point settings. Here's the link FWIW

http://www.autometer.com/search_resu...=Shift%20light

The shift gauge is 2 1/16" diameter and to my surprise (Thank GOD!!!) it fitted EXACTLY inside the original tach's housing

The rest you can more or less infer from the pics, if anyone is interested and want more details feel free to ask. BTW the stock tach costs around $300... The level 1shift gauge costs around $120 and the level 2 can be found for around $180, so IMHO it's a win-win situation having a digital, more precise tachometer and a shift light retaining the stock appearance and avoiding the need for a separate shift light, for those interested in racing or at least having a friendly reminder before hitting the rev limiter

Hehe it limits at 10K but the shift light is set at 9K, I held it purposedly at around 5K and that flashing of the shift light when it's shut off is normal
