looking for a lighter set of wheels that won't break the bank

OK I'm really hating my stock 11 dx slotted wheels. I'm looking for lighter set that won't break the bank and still use a 240 rear

I trying to do what some of the die hard racer are doing and lighten up the bike as much as possible. I want to have this bike running as fast as possible with stock heads and stock bottom end. I figure my boat anchor wheels are a good starting point. I've already ditched the stock exhaust.

I haven't found wheels yet that didn't run 2k or more that really save weight. And of course if you plan on spending that much what's another 2k to get cf.

Cheapest/lighest wheels you can do will be the Buell wheels and brakes. Usually will run 1500-2000 to do a swap.

But if you just want a cheap and easy swap. The new 2012 DX split 5 spoke wheels or muscle wheels can be had brand new for about 650 dollars. Muscle wheels weigh less than the DX wheels. The black ice wheels look really good with the yellow paint and run about 1k new.

I was thinking about trying to find a set of 2012 dx wheels I kinda like them or even 13 wheels. They have to be lighter than the slotted wheels. I really hate those wheels on the 11 dx. There has to be something to save a little cash on.

Will the 12 dx wheels bolt right up to the 11 dx? I actually like those wheels. They look pretty light.

Yes both the 12 DX and Muscle wheels will bolt right up to your bike.

The black ice muscle wheels would look good on your bike and would be the lighest factory option.

And then sell your take-offs, to offset your out of pocket cost!

F wheels are the lightest factory wheels cos they are hollow .they are lighter than the 2012wheels .can't remember the exact weight ,but a considerable saving .I know it was almost half my hogpro rim

Not sure, but when I put the '08D wheels, on my '04, the Cush/Pulley was the same.
