Interesting story - behind the bike AND the shop.
Since this is local for me, I stopped in at the address on the website.
The bike was done for a guy in Sweden (of all places) - it was shipped back to him via RUSSIA. The body kit was done by a guy in FINLAND. How Howard ended up doing this project in Davie Florida - your guess is as good as mine. The TURBO (which is what caught my eye - more specifically the INTERCOOLER SETUP) is a Trask, with an intercooler out of some company in California.
Howard himself, is an Ohlin wholesaler and Brembo dealer - hence his sites hard lean into the Ohlin upside/down fork setup and Brembo/Swann brake setups.
Howard is an interesting cat, definitely knows his shit - but is more of an airhead guy than a VRod guy (aren't they all), but he doesn't market this body kit. His take on VRSC suspension and handling was - the rake is all wrong and the wheelbase is too long - cut the neck off and fix the rake.
He had some interesting bikes in there - saw a dyna with a set of 49mm VRSC forks on it, with an Ohlin cartridge system, (real) Brembo calipers and MMC rotors. SO he could probably do similar setups for VRSC's. His Brembo setup is based on 320mm rotors, and he makes adapters to mount the (high performance) Brembo setup onto standard VRSC/DX lower forks (but not adapters for 300mm rotors, nor did he seem interesting in making them).
Personally, I'm happy with my Penske/TD/Lyndall setup - but I'll probably roll by there and have him take a look at my bike for "suggestions" on how the handling/braking might be improved. He knows the guys at Penske (believe he worked for them at one time), he knows Paul (Lyndall) and (obviously) knows Tom (Swann).
As usual, everyones shop is better than the other guy, everyone knows more and the other guys are retards, and everyone else is a thief.
It's the saddest part of the aftermarket industry, that everyone just talks shit on everyone else - and you can never tell what the ACTUAL TRUTH IS about anything. It's the one thing that disappoints me, more than anything else, about this industry. Ego's and assholes (then again, guess it takes one to know one, eh?)...
