I find it looks better than stock but I cant say that it is more comfortable .
I dont find it worse but I dont drive over 1.5-2 hrs anyway.
I did have gel added to the front and rear of the seat .

It sure looks NICE! The real test like you mentioned is the long hauls.

I was looking at one of those seats not long ago, until I read more about them. Mostly what I found was... Looks great, Doesn't fit very well, Not very comfortable. If you have a 02-06 the CFR seats are suppose to be much better. They are also suppose to be making one for 07 and up... I'm waiting for one of those.

mine fits great , they have changed a few things on the fitment .
I believe if you want it looking cool and sleek then it will be thinner and not a comfee as a thick one

Take your stock seat off and put in a piece of thick cardboard in its place. Ride it around town and you'll get a good idea of the comfort. I think I was good for 20-30 miles before it became literally painful, 50 miles and I was agonized. I remember one "long" trip I had that was about 100 miles, that's the day I took it off and it's still sitting in my garage.
As far as fitment, it's horrible. I was an unlucky customer who paid full price for a beta seat, it fit on lopsided since the system to cinch it down on the seat post was not very good, and it stuck up in the rear over the fender. Unfortunately, instead of offering me the correct seat for free, I was offered the chance to "fix" my seat for $75 plus shipping.
The seat is well made though, and VERY good looking. From what I understand the newer seats do address the fitment issues. If you are looking for mainly a bar hopper or a show piece then it's probably the best looking seat out there for the 240 frames.

as spinedoc said the newer ones fixed the fitment issues . I dont find mine as uncomfortable as him , maybe because I have the gel ?
they added an extra hole that fits the rear screw from the stock seat so it holds it down to the rear fender good . http://www.1130cc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=129629

It's not a long haul seat, that's what a stock seat is for!
This is more of a custom seat when your just crusing around town or take it to a show!
We can add 1" of foam or Gell to it if you wish!
Our Sport Tour Seat will be out in 2010 with the same look as the "Fastback" seat it'll be one peice but will have a thicker riders section with gell and a passenger section that is padded like the stock one but much nicer looking!

GR Custom seat
I Have had this seat for roughly 6 months. I here mention of riding long distance. I really think this depends on possibly your weight. I weigh 170 and have rode on this seat for 6 hr trips. Any seat including stock seat you will have to stretch after 2 hrs of riding. No complaints and man does it change the aperance. I went with the tribal orange stitching. The tricky part is dealing with all the damn wiring if you have a PC. I would recommend this seat compared to anything out their.

i have the optional HD alarm and pcv under my passenger seat. All of this is a real tight fit under the stock seat as it is. Do I have to relocate any of these electronics to fit the custom seat?

I was able to fit my pciii under my fastback seat without relocating the wiring...its a tight fit but it does fit...Not sure how big your hd alarm is thou..that might throw off the equation. I'll post some pics of the fitment.
