Exclamation Lower frame

Hi all,
Dumped the 2004 VRSCB,the 'sleeve' that holds the foot peg (left side/shift) cracked.Question: is easily welded or can you replace that part of the frame?

Thanks for any help,Kev.

That lower frame rail is available from dealer, not much money (100 to 150). But I can't see why that could not be removed and welded for less, IMHO

replace it ..there was a part number change for the one on the right side and the early number was cheaper. I was able to locate one of the early ones and have it in my personal stock now in anticipation of the "crash". the metal is soft enough to deform in the event of a crash so welding then repainting would work but does nuthing for the looks of it

i welded my rh peg back on in august, about 5k miles ago. i used a good snap-on welder and am confident in it strength. Yours might be mis-shaped though, and not 'roll' back into place correctly.i had to do a bit of bending. As said new rails arent dear though if you shop around.i think 'zanotti' were cheap....is that a place ?

I would replace it. The problem is they are currently on back order with no ship time. I know because I dumped my bike a few weeks ago and have to replace mine. Might get lucky with the part since we have different frames. Good luck and glad to see you are OK.

I Found Myself In Situation About A Month Ago!
Tried The Dealed But That Section Of The Frame Was An Back Order, non In Stock At Any Usa Dealer ,neither Did H-d Give A Public Sale Release Date.
I Had Mine Repaired By A Welder.he Placed It In A Jigg To Insure It Was Straight !! The Result Were Perfect.so I Dont See Anyreason Not To Have That Part Repaired.i Also Have One On Order.goodluck!

Prices have gone up on the lower frames to about 245.00 recently.
