I don't know then. Pirelli has a 240/18 Diablo sport out that's new (to me) I was going to recommend.

Check out the new Avon Cobra tires. From what I've heard they are quite sticky and work well on the track for street tires.

if you plan on doing much racing i would look into a buell wheel setup on your bike.....you would shave off about 30lbs. Then you have a 17" wheel and you choice of tires are endless.

Shinko makes a 180/55ZR18. Lonnie runs Shinko's and has been happy with them.

set it at about 14lbs.....if it spins take a pound out of it, etc....wouldn't run it lower than about 8psi though

There is a problem with the turbo/17" combo. you are putting too much power to the ground and the smaller diameter spins easier. I had better times with my stock wheel because it would hook up. With the 17s I just spin...

Don't know if I buy that or not......wheel diameter shouldn't affect traction as much as tire selection......
The turbo Hayabusas are running 600+ hp to the wheel and running 17" wheels....

Too many variables to make that kind of assumption......gearing, tire selection, compounds, weight transfer/chassis setup, clutch setup, on and on and on.....

I ran the new 18" Shinko all season and it really works well. Mike's right on with the pressure. They're not real expensive either. I think I paid $149.00 for mine.
