I managed to get my dealer to order me a measurement tool and I received it today.
Tomorrow I will put it to good use. The dealer has 8 shims in stock so I should have things ship shape by tomorrow afternoon.
'
Will advise.

I was surprised also. The parts dept could not order them directly. They had to go to Service for authorization then fudge the numbers in the computer. Took 3 weeks for tool to show up.
'
When I picked up the tool I also bought two shims figuring it will at least do one jug if not both. Turns out both jugs needed two shims. Took me about and hour. Next time it will take 10 minutes now that I know what to do and how to do it. Cost was $4.50 per shim. Highway robbery but H-D has one by the gonads when it comes to something like this.
'
Bike seems to be running fine. Put about 100 miles on it today with no incidents. Will now let it set for a couple of weeks and see what happens on startup.

There was nothing wrong with the chains and tensioners. I did look at them. Pads were barely worn. Maybe 1/16in or less worn.

With that kind of miles that is awesome!

Do you long trip on the bike or do you just ride it daily? wondering how you put that amount of miles on.

As far as I'm concerned H-D should make a good deal to the guys that have that kind of miles on their bikes since they are rolling proof of a bike lasting.

Ride daily and long trips. I'm retired and have nothing to do so I throw a leg over and ride. I don't abuse the bike and maintenance every 5K miles. Follow the service manual to the letter.

Rattle Free Cam Chain Happiness !

Het John I just got my Jones Cams and my engine stand is ready to go with the H-D engine cradle I ordered from Seminole, so after bike week I will be taking the engine out for CP 12-1 pistons, Jones Cams and S/Eagle CNC heads. I dont know how much you paid for that tool but I would be happy to rent it from you with a deposit so you can recoup some $ to check my cam chain tensioner setups. I hope you ditched the paper oil filter and went the K&P Engineering filter way, on a high mileage engine I am sure it will really help.
