Frankenstein's bloody right! But this illustrates where HD are at v where they should be.100 models in 10 years is the cry, why do I cringe when I read this knowing it's not possible with the the latest Streetrod a perfect example of what they mean............another 100 parts shuffle with nary a ''New'' one amongst them.Embarrassing really.

https://youtu.be/Gr11aJ4N_yU

Can HD cross the divide going forward.Do they need to?EPA???

I love my HD. Give it a hug and kiss every time I walk past and hop on the Motus.

Sell Street Crap on Monday, build a real Street Rod on Sunday.

No, I wasn't in the H-D boardroom when the original Street was discussed TwinOaks, that's not the issue. Try to follow the story - I was right here on this site watching quite a few guys think H-D was really going to restart a failed two year Street Rod R model run from a decade ago with a new improved VRSC Street Rod. I figured that really wasn't going to happen also but they were just copyrighting the name again for an improved up performance, up charged Street and slap the Street Rod name on it - it's not rocket science - just common sense. My hope is they sell enough Streets and Street Rods to screw up again and build another " Real " Street Rod for an up-sell when Street & S/R customers itch to move up - how 'bout 1400cc new case Revo stroker with 160 - 170 N/A hp, six speed no clunk tranny, 28 degree rake, 62" wheelbase, real suspension, 550 # max, great looks and room for two ? Now that would NOT be crap ! Maybe just a dream ? Ya never know.

You are an anomaly. ()

You are supposed to hate all that is Harley and give corporate HD advice on how to do it better, make more money and stop building what's been selling for 114 years! You are supposed to know why all decisions were made or not made and then poop on them, rub it in and move on to global climate change. Work on it and get back to me. ()

I wore a Harley Tshirt when I went to pick up my Motus. Thought it would goad them into giving me a free shirt but no luck. Seems the boys a Motus don't really give a crap what tshirt you wear. HD has always given a free T, even when buying used.

I used my Harley T-shirt to clean my MV Agusta - nice soft Chinese cotton.

Preface: I have one and a night rod. Both are awesome bikes.

I think the context of what the Street line was designed for is important. They weren't designed for 50 year old dudes that live in the middle of corn field. If you're that dude, then you're going to hate this bike. Rightfully so.

Likewise, if you're a 25 year old dude, you don't want an old dude's bike that weighs 800 lbs and has a bunch of chrome all over it. It's a reality that Harley has been shocked into.

The Street bikes were designed for urban environments. For 2 mile commutes that take 25 minutes and taking pot holes that you can see from outer space. As for riding around in the city, it's awesome. It takes pot holes on beat up Chicago streets like nothing I've ever seen.

Thanks to the 6 speed trans, it's not bad on the highway either, if you keep it under 70. It's the one thing this bike has over the night rod, aside from the weight. It also handles a ton better than the night rod.

The fit and finish on the Street Rod is exponentially better than the 500/750. They did a great job of doing a lot of upgrades for only +$1000 over the Street 750. I can't imagine any legally sane person opting to not pay up for the Street Rod over the 750. You're getting a lot more bike for only a little bit more.

The Street Rod is closer to the mark. They did a great job at addressing the front of the bike with the larger inverted forks, brakes, the handle bars and the entire rear fender setup with some extra power.

If they could up the CCs to 1000 and continue to improve the finishes on the bike by bumping the price to $10k, it would fit much better in the Harley line.

And probably sell better too, since it wouldn't be perceived as a POJ from the price.
