I guess that in 1979 that looked like every other bike on the road. I am very glad that it got shelved. It is almost as ugly as the Hondas it looks like. So glad we didn't go Jap looks stood our air cooled ground and let the Revo become a much better machine than that ever would have. Cheers to the committee that canned that POS. I think I would rather have to walk then own one of those. Damm its ugly. Can we take the picture down now so others don't have to be subjected to the second ugliest thing HD every tried.

Many felt and still feel the same way about the V-Rod and it's "Frankenstein frame" and "jap" rear-end.
Remember HD was going after a completely different market, just like the V-Rod and in the 70's, that look wasn't as bad as it seems now. Remember the 50HP, hot running, unreliable Shovel-head was their top dog!

The Nova got "canned" due to lack of funds and it's really too bad. Who the hell knows how far advanced the V and HD in general would be now had the Nova continued and succeeded. In stead they focused on the antique design of the big twins, Porsche helped design the Evo heads and look how far they've come!

Oddly enough and staying with the HD phenomena, this fairing is/was also used on the then hated and now loved FXRT. It too was branded a "POS" and "Jap" looking........but now it's special, a collectors item. The "best handling bike HD ever built" as those who own them like to say!

Scout is cute, ... Great Bike. This is my choice of Weapon for me. Indian need more styling choices for the guys that ride these babies.

I'm intrigued by the new Indian Scout Sixty. How much of a downgrade would it be to go from an '08 DX to a '17 Scout Sixty? Has anyone made this switch and regretted it?

That's like asking "how much of a downgrade would it be to go from a CBR600 to a Grom."

Totally different class, much more in line with the new Street Rod.

Bikes are not only very subjective but objective at the same time. Hard to answer your question, it's a very personal thing.

I had an azzhole tell me it was time for me to upgrade from the V-Rod to a Road Glide or similar tank of an old man bike!!!!! He was serious too!

Why do the Sixty other than the small price savings? I've ridden the Scout and it's a good bike. If I were to make a decision now it would be the way I would go. As it is I'll never let my V-Rod go. Too much sentimental value.

I had a ride on one of these recently. Decent enough engine, but the bike feels a lot smaller than a Vrod - much more like one of the mid-size Japanese cruisers.

Felt just a little too 'sensible' of a bike for some reason, didn't stir the soul in any way.
