The Tesla of scooters

http://www.gogoro.com/

Not a rocket scientist but could the 'Livewire Rod Special' range be extended with a system like this and what would be wrong with carrying a spare or three for the longer trips?
Tesla's battery swap was clumsy and only done to gain $$credits$$.This is the no BS setup.

100 Harley-Davidson Models in 10 Years: Keeping Track
Not too long ago, the folks at Harley-Davidson started making some pretty bold statements about the company?s future, promising to deliver 100 new models over the next 10 years.

That is a lot of bikes. A lot. It?s hard to imagine what Harley?s presently 37-model line-up will look like in 2027. We?d expect to see an electric bike or two; and it seems likely the company will continue its efforts to expand its appeal in markets outside the United States ? most notably, Europe ? with bikes like the Street Rod.

Don?t expect big V-twins to go anywhere, though. This is Harley, after all, and it seems certain that as long as V-twin bikes are allowed on the planet Earth, the MoCo will be making them.

To help us follow Harley?s progress over the next decade, we?ve decided to keep track via the list below. We?ll be updating it every time Harley-Davidson announces a new model, so be sure to bookmark this page. We?re excited to see what the future holds.

1Road King Special
2Street Rod

100!

Harley-Davidson electric bikes all set to roll out in the next decade
These upcoming Harley-Davidson electric bikes will be a part of as many as 100 models that the company has planned for the next decade.

By Pradeep Shah | Updated : May 15, 2017 1:24 PM IST

Yes, you heard that absolutely right! Renowned American motorcycle brand Harley-Davidson that is well known for leisure biking is all set to launch its range of electric bikes over the next decade. The company had unveiled its eco-friendly project Livewire back in the year 2014 that is currently under development stages. The upcoming Harley Davidson electric bikes will be a part of as many as 100 motorcycles that the company has planned for the coming decade.
If some reports are to be believed, these eco-friendly Harley bikes will be positioned under a sub brand instead of being directly retailed under the parent company. Coming back to the Harley-Davidson Project LiveWire, the company had claimed that this electric motorcycle matches the Iron 883 in terms of performance.
The reason behind is the 7 kWh battery pack that helps in developing a maximum power output of 74 bhp along with a peak torque of 70 Nm. With this, the motorcycle has the capacity to cover a distance of 85 kms.

###########

So what does this mean, staff in dreadlocks munching lentils under pine trees in a corner of the showroom wearing Livewire t shirts crafted out of hemp?
Or do they get their own tent out in the car park so as not to upset the hanky heads.
They need to be off the lot completely, just sell em online would be my guess.

What size is your carbon footprint ?

Eco friendly - that right there is some funny stuff ! So you create electricity with coal, oil, natural gas or nuclear and have all kinds of electrical generation, transmission and charging losses to get it to your e bikes batteries but it's eco friendly. Maybe with a solar charger it would be. Why not just burn the gas in the bike ? Kinda like Al Gore and Obama et-al flying big jets and riding in 14 car motorcades to go to a Global Warming meeting to warn all of we unwashed, unenlightened heathens about the coming world wide crisis. GEEZ. I'd buy an e bike it looks like fun, I'll put a " Coal Powered " & a " I contributed to Global Warming " sticker on the fender. At least in L.A. the carbon emissions will not be in the valley where the bike gets ridden, guess that's eco friendly ! I'll wait for the hybrid version with the screaming jet sound recording, and ride my R model up till then - thanks.

All of that can be changed with a pen stroke from EPA or global protocols desired by the majority.
You have to start somewhere, human nature won't allow most to accept change without a massive jibbering session followed by war, regret and finally acceptance on even the smallest issues.
The orange gorilla has bought some time but relies on ignorance and apathy for a base.Soon as he upsets their shaky fantasy land he's a gonner.
HD are wise enough to have a toe in the water but the fact they don't want to appear to be by pushing the Livewire into a separate brand and who knows what marketing strategy as yet shows they know the ditch pumps days are numbered but are influenced $$ by climate change deniers $$$$$.
You can't be both and be credible.Already HD have started an argument with the autonomous vehicle brigade to keep the badass of the new scene badge.
For all they know that might be the road to financial success that could work alongside an old school version for ludites.A simple on off switch would suffice.
This is new territory for HD and it shows.
