V-rod Engine Rebuild Questions

Hello everyone

i have been reading this forum for the past week and i believe that i fell in love with the amount of info that i got.

i am looking for a favor from you guys because we don't have HD specialist in Qatar and no one has ever upgraded a V-rod from Scratch.

I am looking for the best way to rebuild my v-rod 2009 for a street daily use performance bike because unfortunately my engine died so i am rebuilding it but with a performance parts , find below my concerns :

- i would need performance cylinder heads

- what would be the best liners and pistons kits to purchase ? Big bore kit , appreciate if you can recommend specifications too.

- what would be the best camshaft kit to purchase? Specifications ?

- stroke crankshaft and conrods ?

- do I need any other parts to be replace ? Valves, springs ...etc ? And how many ?

- full cascade kit ? What's the best

*Is my approach will be applicable with the CNC SE cylinder heads ( 1250 cc ) ? Or I have to purchase another ones

Do you have any engine step by step rebuild report ? Just to be in the picture of what is going to happen and what to maintain ?

EFI tuning and airflow tuning ? please note that we don't have dyno Tuning in Qatar :S.

Thanks in advance and your help would be highly appreciated.

keep in mind please that i am doing this project in Qatar with people don't have the experience in doing it and its the first ever time for someone to do this in Qatar.

Do you have a "search" button in Qatar?

Search engine exists in all countries, so the answer is yes . the purpose of this thread is for brain storming for all specialists that are willing to help, the difference between Qatar and the US --> US = so many specialists, Qatar = None. so the aim of this thread is to make sure that i am going to do the write thing when everybody is in sync with my bike's situation.

there are a lot of things online ---> YES for sure, but they are A LOT but is risky if i brought something is not applicable with the others because i am sure our Hardly Davidson dealer will not notice and i would loose so much if something happened to the engine.

hope that i have clarified my idea.

Again - you will get all your answers using the "search" function here. Reality is - if you dont have professionals? over there to do all this work, I would suggest you send the motor to USA as there are plenty of good guys on here that can do the job for you.

I agree. And since you can't get a dyno tune there, you'd need a shop that would be able to mount the motor on a bike with the intake and exhaust you're going to use to tune it.

Also, when you use the word "best" for anything, you're going to receive 500 different answers here. "Best" is very subjective. Everyone has a different opinion on "best."

Find someone to build it for you who uses "proven" parts.

OhioVrod (Fitzgerald Motorsports), BadVR (Frank), ChopperSteve (VMod) all could build you one hell of a motor!

BadVR (Frank) might even have a motor built sitting on a shelf that you could swap/buy.

Just a thought.

We have specialists in disassemble and reassemble the Motor, but not in choosing which of the best parts to use for upgrades/Rebuilds. and i don't want to put myself in a situation that after searching the net and buying a 2000 $ part and its not going to fit (that's a possibility speaking of that i don't have a mechanical experience)

I HOPE THAT YOU GOT CONVINCED

NO - I AM NOT CONVINCED !!!

disassemble and reassemble the motor is different than having an experience with upgrades, V-rod, performance parts and quality work. the first part we have, the second part, we don't.

please lets keep this thread for the ones than are willing to help. thanks for your time.

V-rod Engine Rebuild Questions

I would definitely get in touch with OHIOvrod aka www.fitzgeraldmotorsports.com

Scott is as stand-up guy who has contributed substantially to the community. Never heard ONE bad word about the guy or what he sells. Have bought stuff worth 1000s from him and would do it again.
