instrument swap?

Hey guys, does anyone know if any of the years swap clamshells and the bezel that hold the gauges . I'm having to replace both of these. The bezel I bought from a harley dealership and the clamshells I bought off of Ebay. Both places said the parts fit my bike but the bezel does not fit my clamshells and it did not fit fit my old clamshell either . Can anyone with the 105 aniversary model send me a picture of the setup, please. Much appreciated.

What were the P/Ns of the items you bought?

There's nothing special about the bezel and clamshell on a 2008 105th anniversary model. All VRSCA/AW/X (2002 to 2010) use the same clamshells and bezels.

The VRSCA frame (and clamshell) color was changed from gray to "leafy aluminum" in 2004 but the clamshell shape didn't change. The P/Ns of the parts that will fit are:

clamshell bottoms: P/Ns 46095-01 (gray) or 46095-04BGO (leafy aluminum)
clamshell tops: P/Ns 46096-01 (gray) or 46096-04BGO (leafy aluminum)
bezel: P/N 67399-01

2008 bezel and instrument clamshell

Thanks Steve for the reply. Just talk to the harley dealer I ordered the part from and basically he repeated your info you sent me . It just doesn't seem right (the part match)the bezel just does not fit into place right and like I said before ,there is a gap on both sides of the bezel in it ever fit into place. Oh and by the way, my clamshells are black and that's what I've seen in some of the 2008 anniv. models that show a glimpse of that area of the bike . I still have not found a very good direct view of the assembly to see if there is the same gap as I am finding. Thanks again Steve.

Not sure why your IM doesn't fit. It does require a little care in positioning but not that difficult. I found the 105th anniversary P/Ns at Ronnies HD and you'd need 46095-04BK and 46096-04BK for the bottom and top covers in black. The shapes are the same as the other color options though so it shouldn't change fitment issues.

I don't know why?

Thanks stever and 08-105 for the reply and the pictures.. o8-105 if you look at the top picture you sent , my chrome piece that lays on the top of the shell , in the indenture , has a gap between the chrome and the black paint where you would think that it would sit flush like yours in the picture.
Again I appreciate your effort and time , I'm going to put the pieces down and walk away for a couple of days and then go back at it. It snowed here anyway so can't ride. Thanks again.
