It would actually be a superb touring bike.

The rest of the world doesn't putz down a straight flat freeway at 75-80 mph with the stereo blaring country western "music" and call that "touring". Touring means riding high mountain passes and roads hugging steep coastal cliffs where a bike has to be able to accelerate, turn and stop while still bringing everything along, and do all of this sometimes at speeds beyond anything a Harley touring bike is capable of. You should take a vacation in Europe and do some driving of cars and riding of bikes. If you haven't been over there you don't know what cars and bikes are expected to be able to do on public roads. It is nothing like the US. After a week on the road there you will understand why the rest of the world builds vehicles the way they do, and why US vehicles are not often popular outside the US.
I dont have to ride a "German" bike on a goat path to enjoy touring.

The twinkie is better than the VRSC. I think the Sportster is better. Nothing on a VRSC says bagger, its too low, its geared wrong, the power band it too narrow, not enough gears, way to lazy in turns, its almost underpowered empty, so-so brakes. You need low end power to haul all that crap they bring.

Me on the other hand If I cant fit it in a small front fork bag or roll it up on the handlebars, I dont need to bring it.

Now this

Don't start. These marketing gurus are already running a phantasy bike night with all the bullsheet names they attach to sports bikes these days.
Pretty soon you walk in, pick a sports bike, order it to tour, cruise, tow, off-road or all of the above and they will apply the appropriate badge while you wait.

Consider this is a guy thinks a car with a carbureted pushrod V-8 mounted longitudinally in the front and driving the rear wheels through a live axle is a "Toyota". In a word, clueless.

Ride some other touring bikes Nas3car and see how much you have to learn. Don't be afraid to spin the engine either. RPM equals horsepower, and that is what moves the bike. Spin the engine and things happen real fast, maybe faster than you can handle, lol.

Bailed long before it went bad.

Oh I know the bump and know all about how HP is made.

My 4.5 inch stroke Shovelhead has seen over 6500RPM.

Also my 350 Chevy would easily see the better side of 8000RPM.

I know it all sounds good for braggin on the interweb. I dont have video to back it up but the recall tach would say so.
