Well I received my "official" recall letter today in the mail. As I figured, Locktite is all they plan on doing to the bike lol

Got my Safety Recall Notice today.
Here is what it says they will do:

Remove license plate assembly mounting screws.
Apply medium strength thread-locking agent.
Reinstall to proper torque.
Remove the two front mounting screws.
Replace with the parts provided in the recall repair kit.
Apply medium strength thread-locking agent.
Install to the proper torque.

*Actual dealer labor time to perform this service will be less the one hour.

Well I guess I can consider myself lucky, picked the bike up in july, and on my almost 10k road trip (over a period of 2 months from co to me and back) it didn't fall off lol.

It took a while to get the recall letter to as far as Finland, but it arrived just after the Xmas.
Had the problem last summer when noticed one of the bolts was already gone. Got it fixed then but guess the second bolt is still the original.
No big deal tho, long and cold winter, they have time to fix it properly now. Luckily it is stored at retailer for the winter.

My first impression of the "new and improved" rear fender was that it would cause problems somehow. I thought it would be that slick flush-mounted tail light though. Sorry to hear of the recall. They just don't make 'em like they used to, I guess.

Other shit that has happened

After my first service I brought bike home in the morning went to get on an noticed the tail hanging by one screw... The next day after first service ya think he checked the bike or just changed the oil and moved on?

so when I brought it in and complained he said he checked it but we fixed it by using same screws locktite and washers. Why washers because the screws are holding plastic not metal so I noticed they warped the plastic holes so we thought to put washers. Harley didn't think it necessary as I sent pics and info to them as per the manager this was way before the recall.

Other issues I have had..

Hit a nice bump riding and my taillight cap popped right out! I heard it hit and went back before it was run over..

they just pop in no screw. Check your tail runner caps

I also had the top of the speedometer pop out and had to pop it back.

Has this happened to anybody???

I got my letter but never took my bike in because the plan was to always remove the dogass at some point. Well I finally got around to it last night and there were only 3 of the 4 bolts left and the remaining 3 were pretty loose, not finger loose, but need no torque to turn.
