My next unrelated question. ..can the swingarm be tapped into without weakening the integrity? Thanks
My plan is to remove fenDer support and mount mud guard onto swingarm.

Go on a DIET Fat-Ass...

I STILL haven't weighed my bike yet. Might have to hit the scale at a local truck stop out of curiosity...

It seems, for every $$ I spend on something LIGHTER, I add a gadget or gee-gaw to make up for it...

The HEAVIEST SINGLE PART(s) of the bike (aside from the MOTOR of course), is the BOAT ANCHOR PIECES that compose the "triangle part" under the fuel cells on each side of the frame.

These are CAST PIECES - and I got to hold them at the factory (as the contractor that makes them had a display during the factory tour last year). Each section (side) weighs about 25lbs - probably used for rigidity at that part of the frame, and to protect the fuel cell.

I was (at one time) considering buying a BUNCH of titanium tubing, and was discussing with "our friend" at the factory - getting a frame bent & welded on the factory jig machine (on the sly of course). His WELDER didn't want to take responsibility for it - even though I told him I would "waive liability" and he could just "tack" the ends in place and I would have my guy down here do the final welds.

Any metallurgist here?

If you could remake the VROD's frame for everday street use, what metal would you use?

If you set out to take weight out of the engine and keep it for everyday street use, how would you do it?

Any way of fabbing only those parts in a lighter steel or material? If my bike felt like a different one after swapping exhaust saving around 25 pounds, I can imagine saving at least 50 from the frame!

When I bought my Rod I weighed 104kg's (228.8 Lbs ).
I now weigh 93kgs (204.6 Lbs) . A reduction of 11 Kgs.
Thats just a little less than a FULL TANK OF GAS . ( 14 litres )
I just stopped eating shyte and now do more exercise .
Needless to say , the Rod goes better with the reduced weight Lard Bucket on it now .
And I feel better .

I suspect mine is one of the lightest and I suspect it is under 250 kilos as well.
I estimate I have pulled in excess of 100 pounds out of my bike.
Look at my link below to see what I have done.....
