I flew into SAN FRAN., Rented a bike for 2 days, traveled north & south on the PCH. IT was awesome, just wished I had more time. I would map out where you want to go, price everything then compare it to the guided tour.

I'm kind of leaning towards a "Semi-Guided" tour, they book all hotels and pre-plan your route on a GPS, so your on your own, but everything has been laid out for you. They even take your luggage from hotel to hotel. For someone like myself, this may be a better option than trying to do all of the leg work on my own.

The Semi-Guided tour is about $400 cheaper, the difference is, you have to pay for your own fuel for the entire trip and doesn't cover entrance and parking fee's to the parks. Now the Guided tour covers all fuel cost and the entrance fee's. Hmm, save $400 bucks and be on your own might be worth it. I can cover the gas cost and park entrance fee's. Just thinking out loud......

Its really up to what you thin you would do best, maybe guided tours are smart and don't lump 30 yr olds with 68 year olds in the same group etc..? And there really is a lot to see from the desert to the mountains to the coast etc.. all not that far from each other. I love the ride from Malibu to San Fran, I just shoot right up the coast, takes a few hours longer then taking the highway but thats just fine, can off shoot into some great canyon roads on the way if I want or just go straight up.

Seaman if you have a gps that can have routes downloaded into it, try https://www.madmaps.com/
These are a great source for roads in any area of the country. They have their maps based on regions of the country and have routes detailed out for some great riding adventures with attractions or points of interest along the routes. I have quite a few of these maps and have done a lot of the routes. I map out the routes on tyre, or base camp for garmin, then just plug them into my gps and head out. All of these routes have been mapped out by fellow riders, with attractions or sites along each route. I have done all the routes in PA, NJ, NY, and most for VT, VA and NC. Try it out and maybe that will help you decided on a location.
Here are a couple examples....sorry if not to clear, cell phone pics

Europe would be ultimate, just none of that riding on the wrong side stuff! I'd be in trouble!

I do this all the time around the mountains of southeast KY. You get to see a lot of the beautiful scenery. The options are only limited by what the person or group wants to see or do. I do this as cheap as the person wants. There are some really beautiful places like red river gorge, Cumberland falls, Brokeleg falls alot of the state parks in this area. Some real beautiful lakes. I am very accommodating with my guests. I also set a nice easy pace so my clients can see the beautiful sites. There is a local hotel right beside my home and I have a storage building to park a couple of bikes in. I do everything I possibly can to offer my clients anything they want to do.

Yes looked into Eaglerider, they seem to be reputable. My only problem is I'm a point A to point B person, I like to have a destination. So looking at spending a few days in Vegas then a semi-self guided tour for a week.

Yup, Grand Cayman Island. A guided tour is the only way you can ride there, unless you live on the island and own a bike. And you'll never in a million years guess what I rode. Here's a photo clue.
