My buddy next door has an '03 and is having trouble with it bogging down at higher revs. He had someone mod the exhaust. The way that I understand it, is that they basically did a V-MOD without cutting out the rear end. So it looks stock, but has no inner baffles. Anyway, I told him that he probably needs to have the tuning adjusted through either an HD flash, a gil's box, power commander or some other sort of fuel management system. I have a gil's box on mine and it works fine, but I was able to order it based a defined set of modifications (topless with v-mod pipes). So, does anyone have a suggestion for the best fuel management system with a hybrid type modification such as my friend's? I don't have any experience with the power commanders and therefore don't know how to go about downloading maps or which set up is the best, etc. Please educate me (and my friend) Thanks!

1) I have the 3.7 gal. tank. Whats a reasonably safe range with mixed highway and city?
2) My bike didn't come with an owners manual and I haven't ordered one yet. So, when I cycle through the display I have an odometer, a trip odometer, and then a display that looks like a small letter "r" and then a number that ranges arounf 89 to 91. What's that?
3) A dealer last week was telling me to put 20/50 in my engine and some Harley tranny oil for the transmission. I told him I thought the engine and transmission oil were combined in this bike like some Japanese bikes. Who's right?

On this last question I must stress that I'm not a complete dumbass I just don't have an owners manual or a Clymers manual yet. This thing is a 2004 with only 1450 miles on it. I'd rather not just take off and find out later how bad I screwed up.

Thanks in advance.

I had "an incident" this year while at Sturgis. My T-Bag came off my back rest and managed to get lodged between my rear tire and fender. My rear tire locked up at around 70MPH. It was quite the ride for a while, and it felt like eternity before the bike finally slowed down. I fished tailed a few times left and right, but managed not to high side.

The short of it is I have damage to my rear inner fender. The black plastic license plate mount, and the area where the turn signals are connected are trashed. Some damage and cracks elsewhere on the inner fender as well.

Nothing much survived in my T-Bag.

So, with many people doing mods, what are the odds of finding a used inner fender for my '09 AW? I will post in the "wanted" section, but wanted to see if there are other places to find a replacement without going thru the dealer. I foolishly ordered a new tail light assembly from the dealer (also trashed), and it has gone into the "back-order black hole".

I’m looking for some new chrome and I see Ebay is more expensive now than HD catalog direct prices. Do we still have a HD dealer offering discounts and or is there any new sources?

Chrome tripple tree, need a replacement. The one I have is for a 06-07 if I remember right. It has one or two degrees less rake and makes the bike handle a lot better. Hopfully the chrome is better quality now. Chrome brake pedal, top chain guard, shifter linkage (one with V-ROD)’

I have a chrome side cover that fits over the standard gas tank that has seen it’s better days as well. I found it on Ebay but never saw a plain solid chrome one again.

I also have the original V Guage and need a new chrome housing for it. Guage still works fine many years later but the housing is gone.

Any and all help will be appreciated. PM’s welcome hard to find my way around this place now days. The site has more gleem that a hooker in Vegas.

PS Trask Turbo still running fine 

Pretty much stock, except for a HD windshield and sissy bar added.

So, is this a pretty good price, considering the age and condition?
