: Which Seat to Buy??

I need to get a new seat but not sure which one. I will have a passenger quite a bit but also ride solo a lot. I'm 6'2'' and almost bought the sundowner but now I'm not sure b/c of all I have read about it sitting u further forward and I DON'T want that at all.

I don't really ride long distances, usually around 100 or so miles. I don't know what seat is on there now (just bought my bike last winter).....it looks like snake skin in the middle of the seat.

Should I just buy a stock seat off the classifieds here for pretty cheap then put a touring pillion on the back for the wife?? I know she wants the pillion that comes with the sundowner.

Alot of it depends on the look you're after too. If you're looking for the sleek minimal "racebike" look you need a different seat than you do for a "comfy" look. I have a Sundowner as do many others and it's like a Barcalounger for comfort but a little large looking to be sleek. The passenger pillion is hands down THE seat for a passenger. Corbins are very nice but on the edge of hard and very $$$$'s. Those and a stocker are the only ones I can fess up to.

Try the tallboy V-Rod seat in the HD 2008 P&A Catalog.
I'm 6' and I have a Sundowner on mine. Love it!

I don't mind the looks of the stock seat or the sundowner but I'm not really into the looks of the Tallboy seat.

I'm more worried about the passenger pillion...My seat now is OK but the pillion is like the stock pillion so that can't be too comfortable.

I guess I want something that looks like stock (badlander maybe?) but has the wider pillion(like sundowner) that matches the seat too.

you can get a touring pillion that will go with your stock seat if you are ok with the stock front and just want to change the back.. its not a bad option and i have ridden on a touring pillion so i can say its not bad for a few hours worth of riding

Just ordered my CFR from the 1130cc store. Thank you stimulus package, I get a free extra seat!

I normally use a Sundowner. I'll only use the CFR when I feel like playing Boy Racer!

I think that is probably the route I will go....We don't ride for more than a few hours usually anyway. Just cruisin and poker runs most of the time.
