: No seats for newer V-rods
urbarra 03-30-2008, 12:09 AM While I'm sure somewhere in HD land there is a need for two seats that push you forward (reduced reach and Sundowner), maybe HD should consider the fact that some of us are 6' and above.
Maybe we would like a seat that fits the 07 and 08 Vrods, something that works with a 240 tire. Would that be so hard?
Why can't you make a Tallboy for us? It's bad enough that Saddleman and Mustang have both ignored us. Does the place we bought the bike have to as well? You made 28 for the FXDL. How about 3 for us?
Rant. Rant. More rant.
Making me do a custom seat for a 20k motorcycle just to stretch my legs makes me wonder (& yes, I do the reversed pegs).
spinedoc 03-31-2008, 07:47 AM I'd love a seat that puts me farther back also.
right$pecial 04-03-2008, 01:51 AM I just checked out Corbin's website. They make a seat for the night rod, but I don't know if it'll work on the night rod special.
bpipe95 04-03-2008, 02:02 AM I am 6'1" with a 32" inseam. I just put a sundowner on my 07 AW, I was a bit worried as I hated how they look on the A,b,d model, but I must say I really like how it looks and LOVE how it feels. I have no pressure on my tail bone at all (the stock seat hurt my tail bone so bad I had to take mucho Advil and alieve after a long ride). I did notice that it moved me up (vertically) a little but it in no way is cramping my legs. I am looking foreword to riding this year and being able to walk normal after a long ride.

I'm 6'4" with a 36" inseam
mjw930 04-03-2008, 08:46 PM At this point the only aftermarket seat for the wide frame bikes is the new Corbin. I'm sure more will come in time.
MODCOBRA 04-22-2008, 07:53 PM I no longer have my Rod...but I do have an 07 Street Glide. You need to check out meancitycycles.com for rework of you stock seat. Allen did a great job on mine. He narrowed it a bunch, lowered it one inch and put in the best memory foam money can buy. Prices are VERY REASONABLE. I can see no reason to spend the kind of money some of these companys' want to get a comfortable seat.
Thanks,
Ben Dorn
WI Bob 05-07-2008, 10:48 AM Does anyone have some butt time on any touring type seats for the 2008 CAW with the 240 tire? It looks like Corbin may have one.
Bobbo 05-10-2008, 06:31 PM I just got the sundowner, and I hated the looks right away and I really hated the fact that it pushed me forward (I was already thinking of extending the forward controls as it was) But after about a thousand miles this year so far, I may not do a thing! My bike is so dang comfortable I dont want to change it and the looks grew on me! (might be my butt talking since it doesnt fall asleep anymore after 20 miles!)
PhoenixV 06-12-2008, 05:21 PM I ordered the Corbin but I wont see it for 4 - 5 weeks. I've had Corbin in the past and although they were for sport bikes they were awsome. Im hoping for the same with the Harley. I'll comment on it when it comes even though it seems like a zillion years from now. There REALLY frickin expensive though.

I too have a corbin for 08 CAWA. To pick up on Fri 09/05/08. Will post my thoughts after riding this week-end!!!
The ThirdAM 09-04-2008, 09:57 AM I've used Corbin seats for 5 years or more. The one on my 07 AW is great, would hate to ride without the back rest after all these years - years of using Corbin seats and my years.
Louis 09-04-2008, 10:07 AM Hmm. I'm tall, and very long legged, and I like the stock seat. I don't want to be pushed up, I'd get more wind blast. My only complaint is that the seat is visibly low quality, but the probable answer to that is to give a stock seat to seat builder and ask for something the same, but with gel pads and better quality.
