: Where is the Super Kaz interview
VrodRick74 08-11-2004, 12:25 PM While I like redneck racing too, lets talk to someone thats making some power and running a number. I don't care that he isn't running these events, he's sure going a lot faster than anyone else. Sorry to call it redneck racing thats just what I think of when someone says you guys in the south. SUPER KAZ! SUPER KAZ! SUPER KAZ! common who's with me :kaz: :thumb:
kspz3 08-11-2004, 01:53 PM KAZ is MIA - and easy on the stock (southern boy) racers...... it is the grass roots racing tradition - we wikll let Kaz talk up his program-and special aproach to the game - upon his return - where are you Kaz....KSP and one final thing about the southern boys.... have you noticed that they are out there doin' it while KBOlsen has been inviting and inviting and running all alone..... and I haven't had much VRod company at Pittsburgh Raceway (except of course Dan the Man from Cerini's) recenly either - only some friends from the BELIEVE IT OR NOT "WARRIOR" forum - I wish some of you southern boys would make a trip up north so that the talkin would stop and the walkin could walk....
kspz3 08-11-2004, 01:54 PM VRODRick - have you been to the track lately - we could also start a thread for you - we are looking for racers to feature....KSP

It's been a month or so, I've spent a lot of time tweaking the bike and getting my website off the ground. I'm about a month away from having the bike in horsepower mode. I had some crappy times at LACR 8000 feet above sea level. The bike went 12.20 at 118 with 2.20 60 ft times. This was my first attempt at racing at the track. I'm getting used to launching the thing now. First pass I thought I could make it through the traps in 3rd but needed 4th hit the limiter. Now the bike is getting a chain drive, air shifter, big bore, cams, throttle bodies, head porting, big valves, and as everyone knows the Magnacharger is coming soon. Hope you southern boys don't take to much offense to the Redneck racing coments. I used to run in the NMRA racing circuit and all the fast cars were from the south. Anyway I am on the path to be an up and comer in the V-Rod race circuit too. With a little help from Sam and Kaz I hope to get my bike in the 10's and hopefully in the 9's
kspz3 08-11-2004, 02:21 PM PErfect - You passed if you want to be featured - sounds like an outlaw setup to me - at least by the classification on the site... I am surpriszed that you could hit 118 in third - do you have a 200/55 tire - that is a great trap speed for a stock setup especially with a 2.20 60' Tell us about the status of your build - what is done so far and what is planned for when in the future..... and goodluck with the business - remind us ad=gain - what is the website address and what is kind of business will this be - KSP

I do have the Metz 200 on the rear, with the 28T sprocket, I hit 4th as I passed the lights so I got a little MPH after the limiter hit. SO far I'm running the Turbo tec pipe, PC3R with a custom dyno tuned map 121RWHP, 82.11 Ft.Lbs Tq., short velocity stack up front, SE filter, IAT in the top of the filter housing, Jet hot coated pies, V-Mod drag bar, Weld Racing Reaper up front now with a 240 coming on Friday. Future plans are tenative, I was going to do a 12.5:1 Compression set up with MegaCylces cams and port everything. I think I'll wait til Magnacharger sends me there Stage 3 kit and drop compression to 8.5:1 and throw 8-12 psi of boost at it. I'll grind a set blower cams for the bike, and really get some flow from the heads when I up size the valves. Keeping with my renegade blacked out theme, everything will be black. Getting a Barnett clutch set up for it also. Storz Performance inverted forks and new Brakes too. I'm making the trip to the Rally so you guys can see where I'm at so far. I hope to put 225HP to the ground when all is said and done. Whether I get there or not will remain a mystery. I still need to get more seat time at the track, but the air is so bad I'll never see a decent time. 2 hours to California Speedway to run 1/8 mile might be worth it just for ome launching practice.
Super Kaz 08-11-2004, 02:39 PM I'm here but give ME a Week then I give My BIG Racing Announcement and STUFF! :thumb:

what, you bought a new racing suit???? :stilpoke:
Johnny HotFoot 08-11-2004, 02:46 PM I admire you KAZ, I know you could afford a black leather suit, but for whatever reason(s) you keep wearing that fricken eyesore?????????????
kspz3 08-11-2004, 04:24 PM VRodRick - sounds like a pretty extreme setup - I know that we will all liek to watch your progress and see how it all works out. One of the things that I have noticed about the VROD that continues to baffle me is that weather does not effect it like the computer programs say it will. I will almost gaurentte that if you dial off of an ET prediction program that you will be loading up for home once done - despite the fact that the prediction says that the air is getting better and you ET should be getting quicker - little happens - I think that there is about .2 to .3 variance potential over a year with wind included best to worse day - so don't let those density altitude readings keep you away - and also don't expect miracles either when it cools down - although much mre comfortable in the leathers. When do you see the MagnaCharger in your future....

They are telling me around September, ultimately I plan on running a twin ball bearing turbocharger, but from the business side of things Magnacharger is a good fit. I'm putting together a group buy on these things so I will run it and see what kind of numbers I can get out of it. Basically I will be a guniea pig for the Magnacharger, it's more for a street oriented person than the turbo will be. Most don't want a piece of equipment hanging off the side of their bikes. The supercharger will fit nicely under the air box with only a small intrusion on the left side for the belt. There will be a nice billet cover over it and we will have to modify our horn brackets. I'll tell you this about these bikes they like to be hot, seems to make more power aroud 180-200 than any other temp.
kspz3 08-11-2004, 05:15 PM How did you come to that conclusion 9Best HP from 180 to 200)

Spoke to Rick Nielsen about it and when we dyno tuned my bike the dyno chamber was around 100 degrees inside and he was having a hard time keeping the bike cool. It just made so much power when it was hot, best I've come up with since is 119. We ran the bike that day for over an hour in the dyno chamber. Did topless, air cleaner less what ever we could think of. 121 was with the Air box cover on and 122 was with it off and no air cleaner.
