kspz3 08-11-2004, 10:01 AM DynoDave - When was the first time that you raced and why - Have you been racing long - What was the most memorable race event that you have been to or raced in. What kind of setup do you have. How often do you race and what would you recommend that others try out a day at the track - If so what guidance would you provide on how to race a VROD or how to get started - KSP
Dyno Dave 08-16-2004, 11:47 PM I'm a 36 year old rookie! I first started racing 3 yrs ago after I set up the Hot Rod Bikes how to drag race school at Woodburn! Craig Tharpe gave me my ET plate and here I am! I have tried to make 3 national events a year some day more. Once the racing bug bite's look out! My AHDRA numbers are ET 16 and VR 31. I tried the V Rod class this year and made it to the semi finals in Seattle. That would have to be my most memorable race. My V rod is a stock 02 and I have a 02 Nighttrain that I love to ET race. This winter with the help of Clay Wilwert I plan to make the V Rod faster! I hit the strip every chance I get and I recommend others try Fri nights at your local strip! I think anyone that wants to get into it should do the drag racing 101 school that the AHDRA is doing at most events this year! You pay one fee, your a member and so on,check it out at AHDRA.com. It's alot of fun and it beats bench racing, or golf. Oh and there is nothing wrong with being a bench racer or a golfer!
JackInZoar 08-17-2004, 09:03 AM actually Dave ,, golf is a great "drinking game" !!!!
kspz3 08-17-2004, 05:21 PM and you only need little balls to play golf and none at all to bench race......
did I really say that.

So where does one send an invite out to the AHDRA to come to oahu this winter to conduct a school for newbies?
JackInZoar 08-17-2004, 08:22 PM and you only need little balls to play golf and none at all to bench race......
did I really say that.
abso-freaken-lutly ,,, and little balls are fine if the contain high pressure ,,, as to the "bench" I have a blown-alcohol-nitrous , 120" , 82" wheelbase 12" tire pro-gas bike , 75% done ,,, do you have the balls to even "dream" that fast ????
kspz3 08-17-2004, 09:39 PM Whoa! Slo Down JackinZoar.... - I wasn't pointing that at you - it was a saying that I saw on a racing trailer - that actually went Baseball, basketball and golf are played with little balls - drag racing..... or something like that......bench racing was my attemt to improvise humor - which I am not all that good at - no offense intended -and no - I only play in the 11s and 10s........ but I do have lots of friends that play it in the 7, 8s and 9s....... but me - I only do street rides...... and BTW my handicap was @ 14 before I started back to racing - must be in the high 20s now. KSP
JackInZoar 08-17-2004, 09:51 PM no offense taken ,,, and my handicap is measured in ounces (per stroke)
kspz3 08-17-2004, 10:18 PM Dave,
Tell us about your winter set up plans - what will your setup be like - how much do you think that it will cost, what are some of your goals for next year...Do you have or even want a sponsor?
Dyno Dave 08-18-2004, 12:11 AM Well my wife read about my winter plans last night, she saw the Dyno Dave interview on new posts! Right now goals and cost are the main topic at Dyno Daves house! To be serious for a moment! I want what my wife wants, a stock looking V Rod with a really fast engine! My goals for next year is to just have fun with my family and bikes, or my family of bikes , you know what I mean! Go to as many AHDRA events and win! Yes I have two sponsors, Team Latus Harley in Gladstone, OR and Art McIntosh- Matco Tool Distributor. Gresham OR. And I'm always looking for more! Another one of my goals is to keep my sponsors happy,so if you need a Harley or parts and or tools! Drop me a line I will hook you up!
