Does anyone have or know of a custom leather works that can recover seats with leather? I have the Sundowner on my 07AW. Love the seat, HATE the cheap ass covering!!!

I want to get my seat and pillion recovered in black osterich. I would really appreciate any leads you might have on where I can send my seat. Thanks!

Try asweetseat.com. Nice guy, loves to talk. Uses viscoelastic foam to build/rebuild seats.

Right now, mine is in Rick Mayer's shop getting reworked. I'll post results once I get it back.

If you call Alligator Bob, prepare yourself for a quote north of $1,500.

I went into GhostRiders, a local custom chopper shop by my house here in Minnesota and talked to them. They put me in touch with the guy that does all their work. His shop is only 15 miles from my house so no lost time shipping the seat all over creation. He appears to have an excellent reputation.

Thanks for the suggestion/leads. Alligator Bob's work rocks but $1,500+ on my seat... way to spendy for me for an a$$ cushion. :broke:

I've got my seat at a local shop here getting gel pads, memory foam, and a knock-off ostrich skin (they said the real ostrich doesn't hold up to weather as good, and I couldn't afford it anyway) I'm looking foward to seeing what he does, I just wish they would hurry the F**K up! I'll post pictures when I get it back.

I know one of the best customs I have seen Bad V-R had done by a local shop near him with material he purchased. I forget the exact labor but it was like $350 and Frank supplied the alligator skin and the seat looks amazing. If all else fails you might contact Frank.

Yeah man! GhostRiders on the other side of 35 from Buck Hill. The seat guy's name is Tony. His shop is called Metro Upholstery. This is the guy Jim hooked me up with. Small shop but great reputation. Below is his email and address:

1117 E Cliff Rd Burnsville, MN 55337 952-894-4472

Noooo you should always ask questions and not pay attention to profiles. I am in the cities twice a week. My g/f lives in the breeding grounds of all soccer moms.... woodbury...

Did you have this guy do seat work for you? how did it turn out? pics if you got em please

Going to have him do the job when I get my bike back out of storage in March. Going to have him cover the seat and pillion in black leather that is embossed to look like ostrich. Said it would take about a week. I will post pics when I get the work done. I'll make sure to include a quick review of service too.

Knock-off ostrich is a good option. Check the pics in my gallery, that's the real skins from Alligator Bob. He has re-dyed the seat twice to regain the original color (n/c). Just picked the seat up last week and Bob was telling me he is trying to get away from Ostrich, his suppliers will not guarantee color maintenance and he's tired of spending 8-10 hours re-dying. That being said, the seat is great, gets more comments than any other mod I've done to my bike (just a few). It has the gel pad that helped raise me up an inch and back an inch. The seat works for me and my bitch, I mean my wife (lol), logging lots of miles and hours at a time (thanks to a 5 gallon tank).
