What's this I hear about a 1500cc BB?
For that one I would dismantle the thing and wait a month or two if they could responsibly claim more than 150hp. Note I said responsibly, I want more than 160hp, clutch and chain but am not in any way afraid to wait whatever long to get what I feel would be best.

Who is it  ?
BPP has one, are they it?
Who do I speak english with?

When the wiesco kit first came out the kit stated 4.25"bore +.315"oversize.I never contacted them to find out if this was true. Now the kit on their website does not say any thing about oversize.

about 140-150 hp,and around 100lbs torque,with good cams and stage 2 headwork.That's what I've seen and heard.

thats a Little High for a SMALL Motor! :slap: The Bigger or More Radical Race Motors will Push the 150 mark an street one would need to Much Compression to get close to those Figures.Take about 15-20rwhp away and your about right.REAL WORLD That is. :kaz:

This is consistent with what I've seen. Builders claims are swollen by such an amount or represent their best attained with an unlikely streetable combo. Someone here has one with 127hp. I do believe most anyone here having more than 115hp dyno sheets had a run on a happy dyno and do not jump at this because I've been there done that with this F'g vrod fever many times to be able to tell it. Get together with the tech, make him honest by drinking like a madman, have some fun, true stories come out. It is not that easy and sometimes they tell you it's tuned when it's not, especially when they do not give you the map. An extra 200-250cc wil give you 10-15hp. Maybe less than 10 possibly.

Been researching this many moths and now biased toward Eagle HD and all because of their PROVEN rep. Paul told me a 1500cc will make like 155hp maybe more with their streetable setup.

I can keep the belt if I run street legal rubber and I am keeping the 200 out back.

This will include the BB, cams, headwork, new valves and springs, TB modification, and tune. I would do the mandatory clutch upgrade.

What rods do they use?

Are they using the stroker crank for the 1500cc bikes?

Will it sustain high rpm for longer than what a quarter mile race lasts without trouble?

It is certainly more expensive than the 1320cc BB package.

curious here ,,, is anyone using "hardblock" for maximum bore ?

Paul Diener
07-19-2004, 01:14 AM
OK heres the story on Ernies BB. I have had some problems with valves and have been waiting on new design. since I was going on vacation 20 miles from Ernie I threw a set of our old heads on his bike and am going to let him ride it for a week and then take it back to finish. For everyones info after staying up all night, throwing together the top end and a 10 minute dyno tune. With that big a$$ rear tire eating up as much HP as possible Ernies bike made 159.8 RWHP (I would expect to make 165 with a little tuning time)
I called Ernie and told him he better start making a 30 tooth pulley or get a air shifter because everything happens way to fast to foot shift and not hit rev. limiter in the first couple gears.
The jap. bikes in southern FL. better pay attention this week or the may end up looking at a Harley taillight.

Yes we have (hardblocked) . Once you take the piston bore past 4.650 the O.D. of the liner becomes larger than the block itself so at that point you have already hardblocked it but didn't need to mix up the stuff (LOL)

Wow, thats crazy. I spoke to a turbo builder today, hes about 3 weeks away. He's using a custom Innovative Twin Ball Bearing Turbo for super fast spool up. He's say a street kit should get us around 170, race kit who knows. What Turbo is on your bike Kaz a T25 or T28 Ball bearing or non Ball Bearing. :kaz:

We cant wait to get the bike back. We plan on taking it with us to Bowling Green, KY for a Corvette Z06fest this week and try it out there. I would highly recommend Paul at Eagle Harley, he is the best of the best engine builders. He does like things to work with perfection and will not settle for less.

Could you be so kind and tell us about it's performance. Your impressions. Describe it's behavior. It's streetability. Anything!

PM me if I'm breaking some kind of rule with these questions, I don't know.

I got the same impression about his dedication to this.

So are you in 1500cc territory?

I want it invisible to the eye.
I really need help with this one Rick.
155hp very real with it and more streetable cams huh?
Is your bike run on the street? If not, do you think it streetable with those cams?
Looking back. Would you have gone supercharged now that it seems more like a reality in the near future.

Just a quick post.

We are just pulling out for Bowling Green, KY. Paul from Eagle HD came by with our bike just in time for a couple runs down the block before getting loaded in the trailer. Let me tell you, she is FAST. We might have to switch to the 30 tooth pulley becouse things happen to fast. You have to hold on tight for all your life with all the torque pulling you. I will be playing with it up in BG and will give you all a report again. He will be taking it back with him for some final tuning which should get us in the 165 hp range.
