Points for the series have been updated and can be seen HERE (http://www.greatlakesdragaway.com/index.php?page=harleys)

Looks like Carl (John's Sportster pilot) and I are tied in 7th. We'll see how things "shake out" on Wednesday night! Weather calls for clear skes and a low in the high 60's.

Where are the other local 'Rods???? Why don't ya come on out and PLAY???

I think that they are all afraid to race a girl...... I know where my money would be - I will bet anyone in the area $20. that they can not beat Kim - anyone want to see if they can take my money.....and $50 that Kaz can't do it.....KSP

Well, I don't know where the rest of the 'Rodders are spending their Wednesday nights... but I sure had a good time!

Carl was feeling 'under the weather', so John came up on his 'Busa and met me at the track.

Got 3 rounds of practice in beforehand... eliminations started at 8:30. I made it to the second round... cut a better light than my opponent but he pulled ahead... I caught him at mid-track, got in front but slowed her down just a tad too much at the big end - he had the better finish. So essentially, I beat myself by thinking too much. RATS! This is what happens when you try to over-engineer the rock...

On the other hand, I cut a new "personal best" light: .022 (Yeah, still a long way to go - but I'm hacking away at it!)

Weather was great - started out warm, temps dropped after the sun went down, making for a GREAT ride home. There were 19 bikes in the MONEY class (seems to be pretty close to that every week), three bikes in TROPHY and none in NOVICE. Pretty good mix of Softails, Sportsters, Road Kings and Dynas.

In between rounds, there was open "test and tune"... saw six Hayabusas, a late-model Gixxer, a GS1100 dragbike with a really beautiful 'Busa body, a late-70's vintage Japanese dragbike and a stunning Kawi in blue and chrome... along with the usual assortment of dragsters, muscle cars and imports. John made a few passes... loafing around in the high 10's at about 135 mph. The announcer had that "Thunder Roads" article in his pocket... after the rider's meeting, EVERYBODY knew who I was. (silly people!) Got some good "plugs" in for my sponsors, so it was all good.

I think I'm tied with Carlos for 8th place now. Gotta keep pluggin'!

We'll be going back again next Wednesday night - and EVERY Wednesday night this month!

Spectator admission is $12, which gives you full access to the pit area.

Novice class and time runs are $25.00

Trophy class is $30.00

MONEY class (80% payout!) is $35.00
