C'mon man, that's one of the funnest things I've seen. Pretty cool!!

I recieved several emails wanting to know what has been done to the bike to keep it street legal and in the 10's ( contrary to the video)

The bike is a 2003 100 aniversary bike .... i know....i know they are SILVER ! Turns out one of the positive sides of riding for a dealership is that you can switch body work. We traded with the black bike after trying silver, and the flame paint. The black with the full black leathers and HD helmet just seemed more like the look we wanted.

the bike is really close to stock . The dealership has been very insistant on keeping it as stock as possible, but still appeal to the different "bike" crowds. We put a Zippers 74 inch kit on the topend. As crew and riders we would prefer big, big, big but as I said we ended up agreeing to put enough into it to run in the 10's. We have heard some rumors of motors dropping valves with the Zippers kit, but as yet we have not had a problem there.

The pipe is really wierd looking but cool. It is an FAIC " forced induction collector" type and comes from Fort Smith Ark. Not many on bikes as yet, but the parts guy says people are asking about it . We run it with the plug out, baffle in.

Electric shifter, and shift light. PMFR wheels for some extra flash and wieght reduction, but we didnt shed even near the pounds they said we would. They are real eye catchers though!

K&N filter in the stock box, and a sticky venom street tire ( a little wider than stock.)

And we had them add some little pegs at the rear to get Mike into more of the racing posture he is used to. We are 37 and 39, that forward control laydown on the tank just doesnt work anymore! he he he

That's it . Pump gas, no computer tune,
put a rider on it that knows how to cut a light and can bracket race and we we're done.

Best pass on it so far was about 3 weeks ago with AWESOME air went 10.83 in the 1/4 at 125 MPH.( Last weekend ( the video) the air was really bad....best pass was right out of the trailer, at 10.96 and as the day went on it got worse. ) The following day without changing a thing except tire pressure we took it on a Ride for life , for MDA through the dealership ( 350 riders). about 100 miles round trip without a problem one. I rode beside Mike on a Stock vrod and we had a blast! really turned the heads , and the old school Harley guys couldnt believe we were taking "THE" dragbike on it . but they were impressed with the trouble free trip. and at the lake where the trip ended mike took my daughter in a wienie contest, where they hang a weener by a string ( soaked in mustard ) and without stopping or putting the feet down the rider takes the passenger under the dog. The passenger then trys to bite it off w/o using the hands. all in the grass no less, Well they were 1 of only 3 that got it ! ...he he he on "THE" dragbike he he he The crowd went NUTZ! It was a great time.

anyway , we come to project V admittedly from the import world. Mike & I ( with the help of several friends in the business)built an Outlaw prostreet Zuk that went 8.53 at 171 in the 1/4 ( that is with an 8 inch slick and without a wheelie bar KAZ ( smile)). after blowing it up last year ( Mike is now refered to " fireball" by the track crew here) we were approached by the Harley dealer here and the rest has been good times. We are presently building a pro-mod motor for the Zuk , in hopes to run it well into the 7's at approx 195 ( still no wheelie bar Kaz ) he he he

There is already a plan for a sequel to Project V that is in the first stages of talking and planning. if so, the Zuk will be on the back burner for another year and we might have a face off between a wheelie bar V-rod, and one without.( he he he ) All in fun guys!

Thanks SO much for the warm welcome to the site! and im sure I will check in often and maybe post some more pix! Thanks again !!! See you in the staging lanes!undefined

PS I have a printable poster of Project V we give to the kids that visit our pit( plain paper size) if anyone has a young one that might like to have one. Email me at upsman@cableone.net and I'll send you the file .

Nice vid UPSMAN! I am thinking of going to the track on Wednesday test and tune night, but am afraid I will want more. My wife hates my bike right now, how would she like me if I dumped another 5grand+ into it... I see how people are having so much fun on the track, I do it in the streets which isn't a good idea, pretty stupid in fact... After my short stay here in the V-Rod forum, I keep catching myself wishing that I waited for the V-Rod...
