I know this should be posted in the Classifieds, Wanted - but evidently I haven't been on the forum 30 days yet and keep getting bounced out of there when I try to start a thread.

Enough about me. This is about my search for a set of Harley soft Sport saddlebags and brackets for my '06 R, Street Rod. Harley part number of the bags is 91136-07A, part number for the brackets is 91338-06 and if you happen to have the complete kit, it's part number is 91200-06A.

If you have some to sell or know where I can buy a set for a reasonable amount, please let me know condition and price. I won't argue your price -- but I consider "reasonable" to be half or less, of list price ($550), depending on condition.

Just a FYI, I tried fitting a pair of Chase Harper throw over bags on the back of the R but, when positioned behind the shocks, they look like they want to slide off the back of the bike. :barf: I'm considering the Cortechs but thought I'd try to pick up factory bags if they were available.

Thanks,
Bill

I'm thinking about selling mine #91200-06A. They are brand new, never installed, so I would need $400 for them.

Also if you want those throw over bags to work, just put a base plate and luggage rack on and they wont slide off. I have used Nelson-Rigg throw overs like this and they work fine.

Thanks for the reply TheeRod. That's not a bad price for new; beats list all to pieces and is a noticeably better than Chicago HD. Will you include free shipping to 89701 (Nevada) for the $400?

I considered the base plate and rack but figured that eventually I would find factory bags. So yesterday I fabricated a pad out of a firm poly foam that overlaps the pillon and extends a few inches down the rear fender to support the bags. I refer to it as the "Maidenform" since it lifts, separates, and supports. :D It's a little crude but it works and the flaws are covered by the saddlebags. Paint is protected from the bags and the pad by a clear weather proofing tape I've used before, on another bike and it works pretty well.

Shipping included, yes.

Nice job with the 3M tape too. My Nelson-Rigg bags rub the black off my shocks.

I'll shoot you an email on the bags.

The particular tape I used was a little thinner than the 3M product used for paint protection; it's Frost King T94 Indoor/Outdoor Weatherseal tape. Used to seal plastic windows from air leaks. A 2 inch by 25 foot roll is under $4 at Home Depot. For this project, I also picked up a roll of 3M clear duct tape to cover areas that show wear from the bags. It's thicker and has strengthening threads, so it's more obvious than the Frost King. Haven't used it on the R yet since I haven't used the bags.
