sfarson 06-28-2004, 05:47 PM Enjoy the tunnels, the near disaster, the sweet sweepers, the chrome stars, the 70's tune, the delight of the V-Rod.

Great Vid :plause:
I went ahead and crushed and converted this down to the wmv 8 format. Sorry but Fedora the system I use still has no support for wmv9 but you will find your wmv 9 encoder will encode in 7, 8 and wmv9 format.

Ricky G. 06-28-2004, 10:09 PM Good Stuff.... That song was a big hit when I was in high school.....I had to run to the closet and slip on my bell bottoms and watch the movie and jam to the music.....
P.S. How about a little Seals and Croft on the next Video....Summer breeze was good......
Super Kaz 06-28-2004, 11:21 PM You ARE THE MAN! :plause: Very nice ,Music,Editing, and your Line and Bike handling skills are First Rate. :thumb: Would Love to have you chase me some Time for the Camera! :diablo: That would be Fun! :angelwin:
Dave-04 06-29-2004, 12:16 AM Steve, You rock man. Very nice job, and great choices of music.
Your stuff inspires one to get out and ride.
How did you get the camera to be so much steadier this time?
I'd love to do this, but I think all the straight flat roads of Central Florida would be boring in comparison. But we do get to ride all year! Ditto on the good riding skills. Good camera catching skills too.
Dave
Very nice, thanks. I had my speakers off so now I gotta do it again.
sfarson 06-29-2004, 02:56 AM Nice movie and editing! I'm not 100% familiar with locations and canyon names yet but is that the road from Black Hawk to Golden?
Yes! Cut the 15 minute video to four minutes and waited for a traffic break to pull out... otherwise I catch up real fast
sfarson 06-29-2004, 03:07 AM How come your not waving to the other riders?

I was being snotty . Actually I was waving when I wasn't holding the camera, and some were waving back... just couldn't tell :ride:.
Christine 06-29-2004, 07:20 AM Hey Steve
That's just not fair. I'm trying to get myself motivated to do some work here. But my bike's parked outside and now I've watched your video I REALLY don't want to be here.
Great video, great music and wonderful commentary. More please.
Christine
Christine 06-29-2004, 07:22 AM Oh and I knew I'd seen one of these somewhere. May be worth getting

:rofl2: Yes! I put on my leisure suit and shoes with mondo heels to get in the mood. The DB tune actually has some lyrics relative to the ride. Figured many of us VRSC riders have recollection of great 70's music.

Chasing you would be a video blast! Often, following a rider or riders up front add much to the video. Mmmmm... maybe there could be a regional V-Rod summit someday.

LasVegas is CALLING! :kaz:
Coolbreeze 06-29-2004, 04:38 PM That sounds like the edge of insanity. Riding dangerously to your very limits. Possibly even breaking some laws. A chance someone could crash and get hurt. Something that only crazed fools would indulge in.
sfarson, let me know if you can't make it. I'll go!!! I'll take an extra camera too to put on Kaz's bike so when I pass him we can still get some good chase shots. :D

VRODScout 06-30-2004, 10:28 AM That seals it...
I am definitely moving Ft Carson, CO back to the top of my "priorities" list for my next duty station!

Rich Moran 06-30-2004, 01:05 PM Steve,
What kind of camera are you using? After watching many of these vids, what is the best camera for this? We have some unreal scenery in Hawaii, and it would be neat to make some of these to post up.
At the same time, it has me thinking about all that good mountain riding I am missing by being on this chunk of rock in the middle of the Pacific, damn.
RickyG, your makin me feel old. You say high School? That tune and all the others the Doobies came out with seem to be music for the lifestyle of riding, and that I was, like today. How come no one is makin tunes as well today?
sfarson 07-01-2004, 03:23 AM Rich,
I stuck a Samsung MiniDV digital camcorder on a mount and pressed "record". Connect the camcorder to the PC and just about any video editing software (including the one coming with the camcorder you buy) will enable manipulating it on your PC). I like the free Microsoft Movie Maker software available here. (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/moviemaker2.mspx) There are number of camera mounting options and many of them are noted at a reknown California motorcycling website: Pashnit Camera Mounts (http://www.pashnit.com/more/cameramount.htm).
Would really enjoy virtual rides of Hawaii.
Rich Moran 07-01-2004, 02:45 PM sfarson,
Thanks for the info, I PM'd you on some other stuff.
if I can get it together, i'll see what I can do, as there are a couple roads her ethat have some great scenery, and one in particular called Round Top, about an 8 mile road that has some exceptionally tight curves.
I've talked with Kalama about doing something like this, and he is into it too.
mattj 07-01-2004, 03:31 PM Great Video, but can I ask one thing the next time you make a run can you show some of the "speed o meeter" I think that might add alittle trill to your great videos.
