: Batwing fairing
indychrome 07-21-2007, 04:34 PM Has anyone else seen the corbin bat wing fairing. I would love to have an o8 ABS with usable saddlebags and this fairing.

Steppenwolf 07-21-2007, 04:47 PM Not for me, thanks - looks top heavy. But hey - ride what you like and like what you ride!
vrod_knight 07-21-2007, 04:57 PM I'm not feeling it?........... I think if your going for the bagger look, The Road Rod looks allot nicer..IMHO
Beeek 07-21-2007, 06:41 PM Sure looks a lot better than that other Corbin fairing (http://www.corbin.com/harley/vrsca/vrod_fairing.shtml). I wouldn't mind it for long trips.
DPierce02 07-21-2007, 06:57 PM the price is what put me off!!!!!!
texrod 07-21-2007, 06:59 PM Can't help but wonder why you would want to do that?? If you want a bagger why don't you buy one?
missin44 07-21-2007, 09:09 PM Assuming it was some sort of quick disconnect/connect might be nice. Looks like vomit, but would be nice over a long haul.

Plus the look. :barf:
Hawkmann 07-21-2007, 09:35 PM No thanks.
Daniii 07-21-2007, 09:53 PM I'm betting its not real stable in cross winds - it looks to be too high. RJ had instability issues when he tried to mount a stock HD fairing - which rides higher. And the KenDay fairing I used is $550, plus another $125 for the HD quick Release brackets. I did replace the headlight to make it line up with fairing better ($180) and put an HD bra on it so I wouldn't have to paint it ($75). But is is probably better than most windshields, from an aerodynamic standpoint.
I moved this into the "bagger" section.
knightenforcer 07-22-2007, 12:44 PM IDK, I'm beggining to like it, esp if you're like me who ride year round (hey if it's winter, but no snow on the ground...LOL) that fairing really helps. I had a detacheable fairing on my RK, and it was surprisingly light weight(fibergalss) even with the stereo and speakers. So I'm thinking the one corbin makes would be lighter. Come summer, you could take it off if you want to get back to the clean look, or if you're not taking a long ride. The road glide fairing is nice, but it's fixed to the frame and does'nt turn with the forks, plus to me it looks bulkier/ heavier. Just my 02 cents.

That Corbin thing is not easily removable. The KenDay is, however.

A lot of guys who had experience riding both the vrod and the touring bikes, know there's a huge difference between the 2. First off ,the weight- the baggers weigh approx 200 pounds more than the Vrod, and next is the seating position- you stradle more on the touring bike than with the V, making your legs spread a bit more wider.(Trust me I tried 3 different seats on My RK) making it harder for shorter guys to put their feet on the ground. Adding the additional weight on the V rod with the fairing and sadelbags, would still not make it as heavy as a Touring bike. Just my :2cents:
knightenforcer 07-22-2007, 11:13 PM This headlight would definitely look better with that fairing:

NOT FOR 1600 BUCKS I WOULD'NT!! I'LL HAVE TO POST PICS, I USED THE H-D STOCK BAT WING FROM AN ULTRA. ALSO USED THE INNER, MOUNTED TUNEAGE. AND PRESTO...ALSO TWO- TONED LUXURY TEAL AND BRILLIANT SILVER PAINT.
