Getting ready to leave for a weeklong 'one lap of Michigan'. Here are a couple of shots of my '04 in touring configuration. The best thing about it all is that in 20-30 minutes I can have it stripped down to street bike.

I'm not a big fan of the look of the leatherpro bags, but they hold the most and come off the fastest, leaving the least behind.

It's a Cortech. I can't remember the model, but can probably dig it up. I picked it up at the local Iron Pony warehouse. I'd really like something with that footprint and about 1/2 the height, but it works really well, and holds my phone/gps in a viewable location.

Thanks. Looks great. If you happen to come across it great. If not, no big deal.

That tank bag will cause problems with the reduced reach bars in a full turn.....

I have the stock D bars. Shouldn't hurt with should it?

There's a very slight interference with my stock A bars at the extreme ends of the handlebar travel, but nothing snags and I just about never get the bars that far anyway.

Here's the URL to the bag:

Is it due to the mounting strap or the bag itself? If I weren't quite so 'waist challenged', I could move the bag further down the tank and eliminate the tiny bit of interference it has with the bars.

Nice - I did the one lap around Michigan last year. Watch your gas in the UP....Don't pass up any chance to top off......My riding buddies were not amused by my reserve....(Their tank and a Turkey Baster) Also when you cross the Big MAC bridge stay to the center (5 miles of steel grid if you dont).

It is a great ride - I posted my ride write-up in the rides section under Lake Michigan Circle Tour.

Have a great ride...Also watch out for the Moose around Newberry....Damn nast animals.

Actually, I have accidentally engaged the starter in a sharp turn in a parking lot, when the button pressed against the bag.

heres my setup, just did a lil over 5,000 miles with it. works pretty good, the tank bag expands upwards pretty good and holds a bunch, it suction cups on, sometimes a cup will pop loose but nothing that cant be resuctioned at the next stop

saddlebags would make it a lil easier for getting items like jacket out or stuff

The trip was great. My UE tank made gas a non-issue in the UP, and the tank bag, while ugly is a great place to store gloves, maps, my cell phone/gps (on charge even), but could come off in seconds for evening cruising.

There was construction on the Mac bridge, so we were forced to alternate between the grating and the concrete a couple of times. I learned that my 200 metz was relatively stable on the grating, but my dad's sportster wobbled back and forth like I've never seen before.

Glad to see you made it back safe. I hope your lap around Michigan was as much fun as mine.
