: Bag for tool kit

Ok, so I bought the Harley VRSC tool kit, but realized it was'nt going to fit on that little frame bag on the left side, so I bought a universal tool bag ( 11 in)from Halrey that mounts on the fork, but I did'nt like the look with it on the forks, so I decided to attach it to the right side of the frame (similar to the frame bag) using zipties. BTW if you have the 4.9 gallon tank with Rick's logo this bag will cover that too( nothing against rick, lol) It just gives you a little peace of mind knowing you have tools if you ever need them. Where do you guys put your tool kit aside from saddlebags?

That might be a saddlebag that even David could live with! lol

I may do the same thing.... one side for tools and the other for sunglasses.

Make sure your paint is protected because it will eventually rub through wherever it touches.

That side of the frame actually has a clear film covering the lower part (it came like that) I guess to prevent our keys from rubbing against the paint. I made sure the bag is pressing against that side where the film is, the universal bag is also made of softer leather material and would prob not mar the paint.

You know that bag mounted, as it is, follows the line of your rear rather well. :)

That's great idea carrying your tool kit like that. Got mine in my saddlebag but I'm going to hang on to your idea just in case.

So that you can pull over on the side of the road and help out an airhead who's bike broke down once again. :angeldev:

I have the same bag and mounted it in the same spot. It works well.

Just an FYI , FWIW...there is also an 8" version of that bag for $21.95-ish. The 11" version is like $24.95. :)

Hey this past weekend while I was out riding with a MC there was this one airhead whose highway peg had come loose. At a stop light he asked all of us if anyone had a tool kit or at least an allen wrench and none of the other airheads responded. I had mine in my bag and helped him out. Thought about this thread when that happened. Hehehe...helping out the airheads. Whooh-hooh! :D :D

This year during AZ Bike Week six bikes were on the side of the freeway so I pulled over to see if I could help. There were five airhead baggers and one Honda Goldwing. It was the Honda that had a leaking radiator hose. I carry F-4 tape in my saddle bag and patched him up. He was able to make it to the dealer for a new hose. All the airheads were praising the V. I carry the F-4 tape because I had a freak incident (http://www.1130cc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45678). Sometimes tools come in handy even for a V!

I looked at both sizes, and the Vrsc toolkit (sold by HD) will only fit inside the 11" bag. The 8" was too small, but it would prob be perfect as a windshield bag (if you have one).:)
