NOS isn't horse power anyone can add it for $400 it's usally just to make up for peoples lack of riding skills my $.02

*grabbing a ringside seat* I said usually. Again I really have no exp with Harleys and Nos I am just going off my exp with sportbikes. But NOS is a easy solution to artificial HP. And I was referring to a dry system for $400

I'll try and be Nice!;) My system cost way the hell more than $400 bucks and with both bottles is good for about 25 seconds of wide open Fury!I'm pretty sure with the right gearing I could do some serious Top end stuff!Talk with Sam about Bonniville and the 200mph mark! Will see? Were this 125hp guy?:sinister:

With what most of run, just add Steve's cams and that should be close if not over 125. I think that i've got the hp bug;)

If the bike is 115 hp now.... steve said his cams make 12 hp, with his work on the dyno it can't be too far off. I know that's not easy.....But you didn't get where you are by taking no for a answer?

The cams might make 12hp from stock with a stock tune too? You'll never know unless he shows you the before and after dyno or until you try them yourself.
With cams it's also where you make the HP that's important. How often are you actually using 115hp (8000 rpm +) Not very often unless all you do is race. You need to make sure the cams add power across the powerband or you might end up LOSING HP in the 3000 - 5000 range where you spend 90% of the time.
I'd be real interested to see the entire before and after dyno charts on these. From his specs it looks like it will make less power on the bottom but breath a bit better on top. Lots of extra overlap and lift. (it already has a bunch) 11.5 degrees of extra overlap! Probably have to advance the intake about 6 - 8 degrees to keep stock bottom end power.

Mark good point...... useable.... max hp at 8000 + - torque falls off about 7200. Steve should have all info on these cam's and where in the rpm range hp is being made. Does the motor have to be pulled to make the change. I'm thinking yes!
When I was young(25ish) My Charger R/T(which I just sold yesterday for 13,000) was not fast enough anymore, with a 440 magnum and 3-2 barrels. So I went to a speed shop and they "custom" ground me a camshaft for midrange. I told them highway use with a 4.10 Dana rear end was not in the books. Up to around 4,000 - 4,250 rpm it pulled like a beast. Then it just tapered off and felt like a rev limiter was on it. We ran it on a dyno and my peak hp used to be like 356 hp at 5,000(rev limiter by msd) but now it was 370ish at 3,750-4,000 rpm. It sucked , with an automatic(727 torqueflite) it felt like I was towing a camper behind me. Shift, shift, shift . Then came a trans shift kit and so on ect. two years later I put it back to stock (except the shift kit) and kept it that way until I sold it yesterday. I paid 975 bucks for the car in 1981 . Put about 40,000 miles on it in the 23 years and sold it for alot of dinero(I am hoping to eak out an older ElectraGlide out of the leftover $$$(house things).
What all this crap said was cams may give power ,but at what other cost. Maybe if I switched to 3.73's or something ,who knows. If I went cams , I would go big bore, big throttle body, matched /flowed injectors, and SuperKaz' race Tuner. That should be like 125-130 rear wheel ? Probably the lesser, but the dependability may be compromised due to no one testing this on real world stuff, Not just racer owned/pro-tuned bikes.
That was a bunch of crap I spoke,hey ???
'nuff said,

Message: too cold up here to ride up to fargo to get it dyno'd the 125hp was a educated guess by a harley machanic friend of myne, so far for mods ive installed a pcII module, samson longslashers with baffels ( painfully loud) screaming eagle air filter , screaming eagle plugs, and i always run super high octane 92 or usually higher.
He's probably making 91 or 92 rwhp with those POS Sampson's!

John there is no need to hold back tell us just how you feel about the Sampson's. :)
