: TT's are installed
Vinny 03-05-2004, 10:02 PM The best pipe for the v-rod period.Very easy install. They have a crisper, deeper tone than the ST's.They are a little louder but not much. It's a more choppy odle.I feel the power come in quicker and stay with it all the way to limiter.Much more throttle response at all rpm's.It revs quicker than my ST's.(could be from tune). This is all with the tune for the ST.And after the IAT and air lid mod and non-egual length stacks.I know that my tuner will get some out of these TT's.
Pics aren't the greatest,my camera hasn't been taking good pics lately.
Shawn Nelson 03-05-2004, 10:08 PM Looks sweet vinny.

crvte84 03-06-2004, 11:17 AM Is that the TT with the upswing that was made speacial for the group buy
VrodG 03-06-2004, 11:18 AM I don't think so
Staney 03-06-2004, 11:25 AM Sweet looking pipe! How is it on the leg with no heat shield? I still am going to get one though, it just sounds like it is the best pipe out there. :thumb:
Super Kaz 03-06-2004, 11:45 AM Thats the Regular Race Pipe. The Upswept would be a ONE-OFF just for the Group Purchase!
Vinny 03-06-2004, 12:43 PM Sweet looking pipe! How is it on the leg with no heat shield? I still am going to get one though, it just sounds like it is the best pipe out there. :thumb:
I wouldn't wear shorts. ;) I'm gonna take a stock heatshield and modify it just U bend around the clutch.
These are not the upswept pipes.
LENELSA 03-06-2004, 02:02 PM So Kaz do you agree that TT's are better than ST's ???
The ST's are definitely a better looking pipe, so if I can get looks
and performance I'd go with the ST's... :2cents:
Vinny 03-06-2004, 05:11 PM Lenelsa,They will shine up once I get the Mother's billet on it.I went from the ST's to these. They give more power than the ST's.The TT's are Jet Hot coated, not chromed like the ST's.
Super Kaz 03-07-2004, 12:38 AM The ST's are Cool for a Street Bike"They Do Look Great" ,but for All Out Performance the TT's are the way to go! :thumb:
kspz3 03-07-2004, 08:33 AM Vinny,
Can you post some pics from the sideview - at a 90 degree angle to the bike from varying heights - I am trying to see the profile. What are your thoughts on the sound - is it extremely loud? How about the lack of heat shield is that a problem for melting things - would it be easy to burn yourself? Are you going to have it tuned and dynoed?
Thanks,
Kevin
Shawn Nelson 03-07-2004, 09:56 AM I could be Wrong, but i believe that Hot Jet is a ceramic coating ( it looks to be ceramic anyhow ).If is indeed ceramic coated, then the heat should be minimal .
Super Kaz 03-07-2004, 11:01 AM Sawn,
Believe me JetHot Coated or Not the Pipes Get Very Hot!
Vinny 03-07-2004, 11:15 AM Kevn,
I'll try to get some better pics today. The weather hasn't cooperated to get out of the garage. They sound crisper, deeper, and a tinsy little bit louder than the ST's.Gave a choppier idle. They are not loud at all, except nailing the throttle. It doesn't sound like a glasspack like my ST's did.I'm trying find someone that can capture a good sound byte.
They are JetHot coated, but it gets warm at the U bend(right calf).I'm gonna modify a stock heatsheild for that bend.Other than that,They are not near enough to melt anything.5 min.after you turn off the bike you can touch the pipes and they have little heat in them.Sam gives a shield to wrap around the oil cooler line, and you have to move the line closer to the radiator. The whole install took about 2-3hrs.
Vinny 03-07-2004, 12:10 PM Here are some more pics
kspz3 03-07-2004, 12:21 PM Vinny,
Thanks for the pics and input on the pipes.
Kevin
jmanextreme 03-07-2004, 01:26 PM Vinny the pipes look great man, I'd love to hear a sound byte. What's up with the gap between your air box cover and you frame?
JMAN OUT!!!
DungeonWorks 03-07-2004, 02:09 PM These pictures Vinny posted are better than the ones they advertise these with! I didn't care for the looks on their web site, but in these pics, man, they actually look much sharper! They look really nice with the 03 paint on there!
:kaz:
Gary
Super Kaz 03-07-2004, 04:08 PM SURE DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR THEM! Vin the Bike really does look Great .I didn't know you had the Skunk stripe. Now put some real Drag Bars and Wheels ,Slam it and you'll be Set! :angeldev:
Vinny 03-07-2004, 05:07 PM All in due time Kaz.Those are the stock bars.I have to put the HD drags on still, got for the meantime.Hopefully this week I'll have them on.I'm gonna make a set of dragbars later this year,or I might switch over to the 04 cluster.I'm still looking for wheels.A 200rear later this year.I heard that metzler came out with a new tire for the v-rod.A higher speed rating.
Jman,I raised the lid 0.950in.
Thanks for the complaments everyone.
Shawn Nelson 03-07-2004, 05:42 PM Those pictures keep looking better.
Kaz i am sure you (running 190 WRHP) no matter what pipe you use will stay hot..lol

Henry,
go over to the group purchase forum and all the answers to the questions you just asked are over there. :kaz:
Vinny 03-16-2004, 06:25 PM hvrod,
There is no PC map.I have been running a custom ST map.My RT should be here anyday.
eduarprmd 03-20-2004, 09:51 AM Cool! Will you dyno? Where's the group buy thing?
Staney 03-20-2004, 10:54 AM Cool! Will you dyno? Where's the group buy thing?
It's in the "classified group buy" section. TT pulley & pipe buy.
kspz3 03-20-2004, 04:02 PM Vinny - are you planning on tuning and dynoing those TT's
Vinny 03-20-2004, 09:38 PM My tuner told me that he isn't comfortable with it(they are a PC dealer),and the other dealer only knows how to tune at full throttle. So,I'm gonna have to do all the tuning myself, thru the Data logging.Gonna take some time but I have a stretch of road that I can do it on.
Eddie, what map did you use,to do all your editing to?I wanna go with the SE slipfit so that way I can watch the knock sensors, that way I can add fuel instead of removing. This map looks leaner.on the bottem. If I'm wrong correct me.
Soon as my tuner(dealer) gets on the ball, and starts campaigning their bike and see that everyone is running the RT.They'll send him to school then.Or,I can just give him the software to study, like I have been doing.
Heck he got 114HP with only 3 full pulls with my supertrapp PC combo, and it never ran better, until I got the TT's.
I can see big things coming this summer!!

When you get the Map all worked out for the TT , share it with us .. so when we obtain our TT we have something to work with thanks

It's gonna cost ya ;)
I'll try.
mjw930 03-21-2004, 10:16 AM :soapbox: ON
I wish the aftermarket manufacturers would get off their behinds and realize that they could create a market advantage by doing the base research and delivering these 3 things with every pipe they sell.
1. PCIII map for the pipe purchased
2. RT map for the pipe purchased
3. TFI settings for the pipe purchased
Some have done that with the PCIII but the aftermarket needs to realize that their customers have other choices. The extra time and money aren't that significant IMHO if the work nets them 20% more sales.
:soapbox: OFF
eduarprmd 03-22-2004, 01:46 AM I used the LS (16ga) map first for the wrong reasons and it stuck with me for the learning and trying part. It just gave slightly more peak hp in one run and I cannot understand why because at high rpms I get knock sensor activation and this map is actually leaner up top. The LS map will go richer than the GY map at wider throttle openings in general but as it goes up in the revrange above 5500 or 6000 or so rpm depending which cylinder you are looking at the LS map will run leaner at the same rpm  .
I think in the end the cartoons change because we have equalised header length. Maybe that is why probably it is very easy to tune for the ST with just the AFR tables on the RT or a PCIIIr. Single cylinder tuning is key with equalised header length :2cents: .
Attached is the LS table minus GY table done in MSEXCEL for the front cylinder. Not that easy to draw reliable conclusions by just looking at the numbers.
You know what? If and when I get TT's, still having a hard time justifying the purchase now that I have these loud JM, if anyone has a good map for them I'll buy it. If anyone has a good map for ANY equal length header for the V-Rod I'll pay you for it if the price is reasonable, even if I don't use it. It has to be from some big cojones tuner doing single cylinder adjustments and of course I would like the dyno sheets. If it was me I'd just post it here. The main interest is in seeing where and why if you know what I mean. And you know what? I bet no one comes through because not many people besides us are doing this really.
PUREBRAD 05-16-2004, 12:19 AM TT? ST? New to the VROD...What do they stand for? Thanks
VrodG 05-16-2004, 12:28 AM Tt... Turbo Tec Exhaust 2 Into 1... St...super Traps 2 Into 1 Exhaust
PUREBRAD 05-16-2004, 04:50 PM Thanks for the clarification
eduarprmd 05-17-2004, 12:39 PM Eh! JM = Joker Machine
