Well I just got home from bike week. I entered the AMI Brute Horsepower Shootout with my Eagle built 1550 in V Rod open class, which by the way was the only class for V Rods. When I got there nobody else had run a V Rod. I made a run on the SuperFlow dyno that anyone that knows will agree that they are around 10-15% lower numbers than the Dyno Jet dyno. I used some of the VP U4 oxygenated fuel which was allowed in the shootout as I figured I would need all the help I could get. The bike has made 160hp on a Dynojet 250 on pump gas figuring I would make mid 140s on pump gas on the Superflow I used the VP and hoped for the best. We ran it and it made 160.7 which I am extremely pleased with considering the dyno. Wes Brown from CycleRama was there with his Buell and made 140hp which he says is about 10-15 under what he usually makes on a Dynojet. He got the Superflow people to give him his hp figures using the Dynojet formula and he was told 154. I didn't know about that until it was too late. While I still have some of that $14.00 a gallon fuel left in the bike, I'm going to take it up to Palm Beach Harley on Tuesday and see what it will run on a Dyno Jet dyno. I left after making my run and never saw who came in second with a 143hp as he didn't show up on Friday to try to knock me out of first place, so I don't really know how many other V Rods ran on the dyno after me. Anyway I had a lot of fun and showed a lot of guys who were at the shootout what a well prepared V Rod can do. Thanks once again to the EAGLE HD team for making it all possible.

That's awesome power Qwk...

That U4 is good stuff...really gives the bike a punch...I use to put it in my Busa and it would pickup a couple of mph...

Nice numbers. I hope they have a shootout somewhere around here. I was lucky enought to get my bike back from eagle two days ago.....whew what a ride... thought I would post my dyno. Have not had a chance to really let him rip, but soon will.

I noticed the baseline was 131.80 hp & 84.98 t. For a stock motor with pipes that's real good. How do they get those numbers with nothing but pipes (+ AF & fuel management of course) ?

Well, I took it to Palm Beach HD on tue. and made 166.9 so I picked up 6 hp on their dyno with conditions a little warmer and humid than Daytona but this is around what I thought it would do on the Dynojet.

You do realize that's torque, not HP. For a normally aspirated bike without juice those are pretty strong numbers. Strong enough to wax whatever competition decided to go to Daytona this year.

Remember HE WON the event!

Kaz, they have a seperate class for nitrous and blown bikes. Mine was in the naturally aspirated class. Obviously KC is not the same deal.

It might be with all the BB motors that don't run juice or turbos. We haven't decided on the classes yet so you never know.

I personally would like to see an intermediate class between the stock motors and unlimited.

I think 4 classes are perfect for OUR event:

Stock 1130
Stock 1250
Unlimited WITHOUT power adders
Unlimited

Last Year they didn't have seperate Class Like that did they?I know Brandon won with his Turbo V-rod with 192 or 194rwhp on his Box stock V-rod with Race Gas.So I would figure 180+rwhp for Your setup would be EASY  ,but I guess I'm mistaken. What Class did You win and what were you going against?

Kaz, you are on this forum way more than anybody:wazzup: Where have you seen anyone post 180hp with a street driven bike. Direct me to the post as I've not seen it. I'll be out of town for a couple of weeks but may be able to get back to the forum once in awhile.
