the High Comp pistons would really Limit the Boost, but a special turbo motor "Low Comp Pistons"on a Box stock type destroyer should make 250rwhp very easily as apposed to the 164rwhp they make stock!:thumb:

Kaz, how far in HP do you think this motor can be built out to? Is it Bonneville material?

Heck if you throw enough Money at it anything is Possible! It could be Made to work at Bonneville but you would have to change a Bunch of Stuff and Naked"No Fairings" I'd say 180-190mph would be Pretty easy with a Hairdryer straped to it!Like they sit 165mph on the Salt ''20% slower then asphalt" geared to the Moon and street tire for the rear:popcorn ;) :kaz: !

It were faird out, do you think a 5% gain in speed is there? gearing is another issue too I realize, and I would think the Destroyer is geared to top out within the quarter.

Cooling, turbo, gearing and streamlining....

Do you think $ wise its a quick route to the 200 marker for the salt?

Billet cases would be next? Kaz, are you working on billet cases in your next salt monster?

Not me Personally, but a couple different People I know are! There are so Many differnt Factors allong with which Class you would want to Run in that dictates your rules and Regulation! The Ceapest and Easiest way to 200+mph at Bonneville is on a Turbocharged Hayabusa not a Destroy or and other V-rod model Made!:(

The Great thing about a Turbo is the Power! If you Ride it Nice it's very Smooth and Torquey! If You Nail it it will SPOOL UP the Turbo and keep pulling and pulling till you hit the Rev-limiter and shift!
Ask a few of Our Forum Member that have enough self control to ride theirs on the street"I don't:sad: " they can tell what they think:thumb: !
Believe or Not Turbo's are Much easier on the Motor then N2O and way easier to install then a Stroker/Big Bore!:angelwin:
I've Tried just about everything"except a SC-Not available at the time" ,and Nothing Compares to a well designed Turbo system!
The Great thing about Trask Turbo Systems/CP is they come with Many Optional Finishes=CHROME,BLACK MATT,SILVER CERAMIC,ETC!My typing SUCKS !:lamer: so if YOU OR ANY OTHER FORM MEMBER are interested my Phone # is on my website, and Please give me a call!:deal: ;) :kaz:

my rcc turbo worked awesome on the street. No burning leg and ran perfect. After about 1000miles on the street and about 150 passes down the 1/4 it was taken apart for inspection and was in new condition.Only thing is i went through 3 barnett extra plate clutches.I think the stock clutch with barnett springs is the way to go.

:stupid: The Stock Clutches are Really good with some EXTRA Spring Pressure:2cents: !
Now if you have a WAD to spend or plan to Race it at the Strip the Full Lock-up like VotRod has,and I think the Destroyer? is really really Neat;) :kaz:

Funny, today I was at the dealer for a couple of hours while a set of Avon's were installed on my nrod.
I spent a lot of time thinking and looking at the Destroyer they had.
It seemed like a very good base from which to begin building. Lot's of stuff for the $. I looked at the switches on the bars, they have all been converted to new uses like 'data acc; shift; etc.
Taking this bike and going onward toward a Bonneville ride, or even a rig converted for street racing... wow.
Usually, a guy buys a stock bike and then builds it, getting a race bike, and going the otherway would be wild.

lymanwhite,
i'm trying to negociate a Deal to Build a Pro Mod Destroyer with a Nice Big Hair Dryer and some N02 for good Measure! Maybe with new wheel and some Body work you could run at bonneville, but I think it could be the King of the Strip pretty easily!:deal: :karate :kaz:

my thoughts exactly. i wonder what would be a problem on the street, other than the pipes and tires?

getting it registered!:stilpoke: !They don't have all the numbers in the frame or something that makes them impossible to pass inspection:spank: !I would rather race them at the track because the Brakes on that thing would get you hurt on the street"single rotor front":2cents:!You might as well use a stocker and build it up for about the same money:popcorn ;) :kaz:

The high compression ratio the destroyer runs required race gas. You could put lower compression pistons in and go with pump gas for the street and that would not be to difficult to do.

Yes, as a platform I agree that it seems to be one hell of a starting place. All the way around, little nice, thougth out touches: rear sets, single front brake, pingle, nice but not over built motor. I bet the collector / headers have a lot more than guess work in them too.
HD has set it up as a class, and as I get it, very few changes can be made to modify performance. So, a guy that didn't need to 'belong' to the class could have a time ripping up.
Of course, you could claim a 'custom' build, and hook up a street version, get registration, and bite some ass that way too.
Wonder how a Destroyer with a 200 Avon, a light, t signals, etc. would look, minus the wheelie bar, (it has a tail light). Can you imagine what the GSXR rider who thinks he owns the line would have going thru his mind: flight or fight?
I notice Kaz ain't the only one looking to hook up!
