Walked in today during a break between meetings, and there one sat on the showroom floor.

40K, but was advised they are interested in selling it, and would deal. So whats MSRP? Whats a "deal" on a Destroyer?

Since our drag strip is closing down the end of March, there won't be anywhere to use the bike, cept doing a few passes in the industrial area.

Wow, no more drag strip on Hawaii. Did it close due to lack of interest or due to political pressure?

Mark,

There is a land deal in Hawaii and on Oahu where there are 3 major land owners. There is a lease situation supposedly that is causing consternation with one of these landowners, and on top of that the EPA came in and banned old cesspools (state wide and its a real problem), of which the bathrooms empty into.

With the lease issue in questions, and the upgrades to modern plumbing, the $ are seen as something of a waste if spent to do the upgrades by those who can help in the legislature as they simply sit on the sidelines and do nothing.

The guy who owns and operates the track has asked the State Legislature for $ in the form of tax credits to ease the burden of modernization, and wanted to bring the track out of the 60's to a world class raceway park.

There is an exsisting circle 1/2 mile track, dirt, a go-kart park, the 1/4 mile which on weekdays is used as a grand Prix style track with the use of the return road acting as the backside chicane. There is a Formula GP school that rents 4-cyl Ford GP cars and does classes.

On weekends Moto GP style events as well as 1/4 mile at night, and then drifitng events are held.

So the deal is there is income to pay for insurances, and the expenses, but it is a kind of a break even proposition.

To upgrade the facilities and bring it into the 22nd century, millions would have to be spent.

The owner tried many ways to ge the support of the State, but these spineless donkies here have not done a thing to help.

At the end of March, the track closes, and all the gear heads who race will end up on the street.

HPD is annoyed at the lack of support, and they know it is only a matter of time before things will get really bad on the roadways.

There are a lot of people here with tons of $ in their cars and bikes, and with that, after a month or so, they will be itching to do their thing.

Yea, Cycle City at 40K has plenty of room to deal. Maybe I'll see if I can get the bike for 30K after the track closeure.

Hmmm, lets see, turn signals go here, instrumentation here, and are wheelie bars legal on the street?

We still have our track over on Kauai, first race is this Saturday, March 4 and I hope to be there, if it quits raining, with the new turbo setup. Man, if I had the bucks I would be all over that destroyer.

Well I climbed aboard a new Destroyer Monday for the first time. It reminds me of the drag bike they (HD) had in Sturgis in '01. I'm sure this new one is considerabley faster.
The parking lots and roads here in Connecticut are still pretty sandy, gotta wait for the burnouts.
My dealer, (TSI) is reserving the dragstrip in New Hampshire one day next month and a few of us with quick bikes, all novices, will burn up the track. Harry, the owner of TSI has indicated that I am more than welcome to give that Destroyer a run after he has tried it first.
I'll probably take Jeff Shaw with me, Jeff held the title in '96-'97 for the fastest in gas. He rode for Danny Vance dba D&S Cycles and I was one of the sponsors. I want to see what kind of time Jeff can turn on my 140hp V-ROD. He's retired from racing now but he'll always be a fast shoe. In his prime he was the best.
