: Just ordered 1340 stroker from Eagle

I just spoke with Larry from Eagle HD, wanted to say I was very impressed with the professionalism as well as the time he took to tell me about who they are and what the stroker motor is all about.

We're building a matching HarleyF-250 diesel and the V-Rod thought a little extra power may be needed. Eagle was my first call and again really good guys to deal with so far.

Can anyone that is running this give me a little heads up on how this motor runs / performs? Any recommendation towards other parts or set ups that works with this would be great.

Thanks MB

I must agree with the folks that say stroke it. If you are going to spend the bucks on taking the motor in&out and rebuilding it save some extra money before you do it and stroke it. The performance of the strokers is amazing and then you can go rice rocket searching because with a stroker you will beat them to 130mph!!:sinister:

Doing the 1340.

We didn't talk about cams............ anybody know what will be gained with a set?

Vinney, if you don't mind let me know what you find out after you visit Eagle. I want to make sure I get everything done while the motor is down there and apart. Thanks.

So there is a big difference? Who's riding this now? Your thoughts?

Kaz, yes I agree Destroyers are cool & fun but slow compared to fast rice. BadRod II will smoke my Destroyer or any other Destroyer for that matter. I bought the Destroyer on impulse; it was not a plan to have a "race team". My two riders are Ryan "skinhead" Edmondson from Eagle who works with Larry on my bikes and Aaron Cunningham my local rider who you met at Moroso. These guys are excellent riders who are my buddies and have done so many nice things for me I bought them fancy Vanson racing suits as gifts. So officially we are hardly a racing team but looking from the outside in we're lookin’ pretty damn cool. I have never lied to you Kaz, I have no reason to lie to you. I also have no obligation to ask you if it's OK to spend my money anyway I want to. I am also entitled to change my mind without asking your permission. But with that said if you lived in West Palm Beach or even Lafayette Indiana I would be honored to buy you a cool Vanson suit with Audio Advisors on it. Jeff

I'm sorry I certainly can't help you pick out the right cam for your V Rod but with Larry & Paul working on your bike why even bother asking any of us. I spoke to Paul and you are actually getting a 1347.77 build or what Eagle will be calling a 1350. This build is somewhat unique and No one knows better than the guys you already have working for you what cams would be best for you. Jeff

My Busa is 6" over...look at the swingarm...also, it's lowered 3" in the back and 1" in the front and then the front is strapped down...I know some guys who have done 1.49s on shorter Busas...Pat Dietrich you home boy from Indiana does it all the time with a 3" over Busa...Check out SuzukiHayabusa.org...:thumb:

I'm going with the Web 462/435 cams...according to Paul, they are about the biggest cams that will work with the SE piston pockets without needing additional machining...also, I'm not running on the track so low end is more important to me as opposed to the high lift top end cams...

Bad Rod Thanks , I'm new to the performance VROD scene, I only called Eagle after seeing all the positive postes here. I also know how busy most people are at work so asking here was an alternative to calling Paul or Larry on this.
Ger Rod I agree low end with good mid range power is what I'm looking for.

Thanks MB

I wanna go bigger,(well cost pending on the machening)like the .492 cams.I need to make up for that 240 out back.I feel that with the .462 cams it should be around 140hp for a 180/200 tire.I don't plan on being at the track with it,but I might make a few passes down it.

I wonder how much more you'll get out of the 492/452 without additional porting. I don't think the SE heads flow as much as the Eagle or Zipper heads. Do you need OS valves to maximize? You've probably checked with Paul but if not I'd do so...

If you don't mind saying, what's the 1350 deal going to cost you, out the door? I know I don't have the $$$ for a 1550 setup, but I'd like to go 1250/1350 for the torque.

I'm bitting the bullet and replacing my Power Commander with a RT as well...From what I hear, it's a must for big bore tuning...You might consider going to 58 mm TBs as well...They make good improvements with bigger motors...:thumb:
