: Turbo
bproulxvrod 02-16-2006, 10:03 PM All I can say is wow :hyper:!!!!!!!!! I just finished installing my CP's Turbo sytem on my stock motor V-rod and couldn't resist the temptation to take it out (despite the melting snow and 40 degree temps). Well it's like a new bike. I've had it since new ('02) and have 36,000 miles on it. This is the best upgrade I've ever done :kaz: !!!!!!! Strongly recommend any kind of turbo upgrade to anyone who doesn't want to deal with the down time required for the big bore. I rode a big bore from Eagle while in Daytona last year and that thing was insane. Can't wait for Daytona so I can enjoy a few thousand miles and nice days with it :biker:
ozzyrod 02-18-2006, 07:10 AM Congratulations:dance: I still have mine in the box :ride: I'm trying to be sensible :angeldev: and do the bike all at once but I am really itchin to install it now and bugger it if it costs more later :diablo:
bproulxvrod 02-18-2006, 07:13 PM You're going to love it. If you have the time I recommend having the radiator pipe TIG welded instead of using the rubber hose with two clamps they supply you with. I'm going to have mine done after Daytona :) .
sparks'n'dust 02-18-2006, 11:42 PM :thumb: Awesome!!! Congratulations!!!:plause:
bproulxvrod 02-18-2006, 11:47 PM Thanks :hyper: ,
kerryw 02-19-2006, 12:38 AM I'm green with jealousy. I have been looking at the RCC kit for quite awhile. Can you tell me why you chose the Custom Performance over others? Hard to tell from the all the photies I've seen, but there seems to be only a few (3?) manufacturers. Lots of vendors.
bproulxvrod 02-19-2006, 12:45 AM The positon of the air filter was probably the biggest. It points forward. The customer support that came with the kit is great. They send the required map for the race tuner. It came with everything you need including the clutch. All I bought was the race tuner, exhaust gaskets, and a tube of High-temp RTV. Only thing to note is that all the pipes (intake and exhaust) come through jet hot coated. So if you're looking for shine then go with the chrome option for an additional $500.
HPTURBO 02-19-2006, 12:59 AM This is the setup that Custom Performance did for me.
You will really like the performance.

thanks , bproulxvrod. Sweet looking Hpturbo! No, very sweet. Dunno if there is any performance advantage to the forward looking k&n, but esthetically... And I'm betting the $500 chrome will be blue in no time. I have a power commander already, for which RCC supplies maps, so that is a consideration. Luckily, my next tax refund is a few months away, so I have time to mull it all over. Love this stuff!!
bproulxvrod 02-19-2006, 01:28 AM Anytime and good luck :kaz:
HPTURBO 02-19-2006, 10:18 AM kerryw,
The exhaust header that goes to the turbo is jett hot silver, so there is no blueing. The upgrade price was $250.00. The kit is as good as the day it was put on. You can even get the kit in black. It also came with an upgraded clutch.

SHARP BIKE EXCEPT THOSE BUTTUGLY FORK REFLECTORS!!!!!!:banghead:  ;) :kaz:
revolution02 02-19-2006, 10:58 AM My god thats gotta be loud. Dont the police bother ya with those types of pipes and power? I need to turbo my ride. spent the down payment on one on a set of JBL speakers yesterday! I'll have to wait. Congrats.
HPTURBO 02-19-2006, 01:55 PM The exhaust passes thru the turbo so it keeps the noise down. I have never been stopped by the police for noise.
HPTURBO 02-19-2006, 01:57 PM Kaz,
Your right, now that I look at the pictures, I'm going to the garage right now and take them off.

HPTURBO 02-19-2006, 07:33 PM OZZYROD,
When are we going to see some pics. of your bike ?
bproulxvrod 02-19-2006, 09:24 PM Ozzyrod after looking at the pic's of HPTURBO's bike (very nice BTW) I'm going to say he got that headlight fairing from EuroComponents. Just check the advertisers here they are one of them.
HPTURBO 02-19-2006, 10:24 PM Ozzy,
bproulxvrod is right. It came from Eurocomponents. Custom Performance installed the milled down speedo housing and there CP drag bars.
bproulxvrod 02-19-2006, 10:31 PM HPTURBO.....this is probably a stupid question, but how did you get the chrome plate that covers the stock exhaust mounting studs to stay on??? I replaced the nut and used loctite, but I can't get a wrench in there to tighten it up and I don't want it to fall off. Thanks, Bryan
HPTURBO 02-19-2006, 10:36 PM bproulxvrod,
It was installed by Nick. Drop an e-mail to him at www.TurboYourHarley.com.
He will also answer tech questions for you by e-mail.
brngrhd 02-19-2006, 10:50 PM hp how hot does that get on your leg?
bproulxvrod 02-19-2006, 10:55 PM I've only put 50 miles on mine, but I haven't noticed any difference, plus there's a heatshield on the exhaust pipe :thumb:
HPTURBO 02-19-2006, 11:44 PM I can not feel the heat. The shield does the job. I'll post a pic for you to show you how close the turbo fits to the motor.
bproulxvrod 02-19-2006, 11:46 PM Thanks
ozzyrod 02-20-2006, 04:43 AM OZZYROD,
When are we going to see some pics. of your bike ?
Ok here are the pics of my bike stock exept for paint job and handmade dogsa$$ support with plate that has internal indicators and the mirrors have the front indicators. you will have to wait till wednesday for the sun to come out as it is overcast and I couldnt get the pearl job to do its magic for the camera. Man is it going to look different when I'm done:karate
bproulxvrod 02-20-2006, 04:56 AM Looks nice.....will look even better with the turbo :kaz:

The bike looks great in yellow!
I see you installed the side cover.
We will all have to meet in KC and get a pic. of all the CP turbo bikes.
Have you dynoed the bike yet.
bproulxvrod 02-21-2006, 10:06 PM Thanks and yes I got the cover on. Just had to be patient with it. The local dyno is still broken. Hoping to have it done before I leave for Daytona on the 3rd  . I hope to make it to KC this year too.
