Im new to the V-Rod so please excuse my ignorance. I have been reading around and from what I gather a BB gets you about 10% over stock. My question is why would you spend so much money for 10%? Wouldnt a turbo be about the same price and get you more HP?

Can someone please enlighten me?

Your only talking about the 1250, the 1430 and 1550 will net you as much as 50% increase and we have seen first hand that they are bullet proof.

Is a BB kit more reliable than a Turbo? What about BB + Turbo?

Can someone give a brief pro / cons of BB vs Turbo ?

Also is there a Super Charger for the V-Rod?

Also if you do a BB or a Turbo does this void your HD warranty?

Thanks for your time!!

I suggest you do a search on this subject. You will find many threads on the forum with enough info on this subject to make your head explode. I don't know if you will get a definitive answer, but it will keep you busy for awhile.

Having had the chance to ride a VRSCA an 05 VRSCSE and an 06 VRSCR back to back to back this summer, one of the big things you get with even the 1250 BB is better behavior at slower speeds. If you're tuning for overall ridability rather than peak power, the bump in torque from the BB makes the bike much more pleasant to maneuver and to launch.

I was told on Pump gas the Baddest V-rod on the Planet made 158rwhp not 178rwhp so that a Big Difference between Race and Pump Gas!Turbo Girl say's they make 170rwhp on Pump Gas and Brandon has made 180+rwhp with my RCC Kit on pump gas!We have a Bunch of 155-165rwhp Pump gas Turbo's artound, but how many Big Bores can say that? :stilpoke: Don't take my word for it ask around and see who's bike has made what. :2cents: The BB don't make the Huge Power with out Race /Oxyegenated Fuel. Then if you want to run N2O you have to step up to race only fuel.My Bike can be run on Pump Gas and Low Boost, but max power is what i'm after.Let the Great debate continue :ride:

If the v-twins are anything like the inline 4 supersport bikes, I'd say the BB is most reliable and the way to go...the turbo guys seemed to work on them ALL the time to deliver the power they were designed for...occassionally, they'd melt a piston because they were too lean...the strokers had to be broken down and overhauled periodically due to spun crankshaft bearings...don't know if the v-twin strokers experience this same phenomema...the BB reliability seems to be close to or equal that of a stocker...just my :2cents:
