: No problems!

Just back from a 1200-mile weekend. Have to report I had NO problems with the bike. Got on the freeways around Toronto (wow, do they have nice roads in Ontario!) and it sucked "petrol" like there was no tomorrow going 70-90mph surging around a few trucks and traffic clumps (only got about 65 miles out of that tank), but it was just for those stretches. Otherwise, it ran about 40mpg and rode like a dream.

About time for the 12,500 check-up now...

This was one of those amazing, magical trips where everything went right, INCLUDING yesterday when it rained. No kite effect at higher speeds, even in gusty cross-winds. The whole trip I kept saying "God bless Harley Davidson," believe it or not -- my heated gloves kept me warm at 35 degrees this morning, my rain gear kept me dry yesterday (even my feet!), the bike worked, the sun shown 3/4 days. The leaves were incandescent, we saw 2 moose(s) in Algonquin Provincial Park, everyone we met went out of their way for us, the food in Ontario was incredible. We got the last room in a 50-mile radius in one town for $65 when even the Travelodge was charging $250/night. Unbelievable food (did I mention that?), unbelievable roads -- how come they can keep their highways immaculate in Ontario where the winters are more vicious and our highways in PA are so worthless? And the candlelight dinner in our jacuzzi suite overlooking Niagara Falls (Crash outdid himself on that one). And then there was the beer at the microbrewery/winery at Lake Seneca this afternoon.

*sigh* I'm seriously smiling here. But, sheesh, probably the last trip of the season.
