Just over 1800 miles on the bike now in the last four weeks. Two days ago going around a right turn I scaped my boot on the road. Yesterday I scraped the left peg doing about 70 mph. I feel like a kid again.
I read a lot of reviews on the Street Rod before I bought it. A local chic rider, who rides in the same mountains I do. Said she liked how you didn't have to shift gears much and she preffered to brake with engine rpm rather than the brakes.
I agree with her. For mountain riding (twistys) the R is just a lot of fun to ride.
Going in for my first service later today. I already changed the oil and re- tourqued fasteners and fixed the front end clunk. So I don't think I'll have them do that, but I can't wait to see them when they see the thing runs great with the fuel injector wires backwards. (The way they gave it to me :bs: ) I also have an oil leak at the front of the front cam cover for them to look at. And a few other little parts that fell off or were never there. I know in one case the keeper ring on the pivot for the front brake could not have fallen off if it was ever put on correctly.
I also am just going to ride over there and wait while they do the work. I don't know how thats going to go. They probably think I'm gunna drop off the bike and go home and sit by the phone. NOT. I have a plan, I'm gunna keep test driving bikes till mine is ready :rofl2:

So I go to the dealer today for my appointment. I tell them about the backwards fuel injection plugs and they take pictures of them. I tell them about two missing heat shield screws, and they replace one, say theres a problem with the other one and will look into it in two months. Tell them about the missing keeper clip ring on the front brake lever. They say that's a special part for this bike and don't have any. Tell them about the oil leak and they say that I will have to come back in two months.
Wow I never had a Harley before but they sure don't seem concerned about my ( there) problems. I would think that a brake problem would be pretty high on the priority list, but what do I know. Bottom line, at todays long awaited appointment they replaced one heat shield screw. :stooge
Good thing I like the bike so much.

The oil leak should be from the front breather tube. Why two months? Also I knocked off the feelers at the dragon. You do not need them.

The oil leak was from the front breather tube. Fixed by me. The heat shield screws are fixed by me."Why two months?' good question. They told me that was the next avialable appointment. (bad service) The right feeler is gone the left one is going away.
So far my dealer's service dept. has done nothing for me. I am very capable and don't need them to do any thing for me. My main concern is that the backward injector plugs are noted so when I want a new engine Harley is ready to give me one.
