We tried to hook up the Race Tuner Part No. 32107-01C to the Street Rod today and it said it did not recognize the VIN.
Anyone else have this problem?

Is this the FIRST and ONLY bike that RT has ever been hooked to? The bike (ECM) that the RT is FIRST connected to and programmed is the ONLY bike it can EVER be used on to program (download maps). Maybe that could be your problem?

I just got the -01D version and it still doesn't have calibrations for the VRSCR.
I don't know if the ECM is radically different from the '05 ECM's but if the key was locked you would get a popup window stating that you were attempting to program a different ECM than the one it was locked to.

Try the Data Log program, if the RT can talk to the VRSCR's ECM that program should be able to. It's not locked to a specific VIN.

I know they made some internal changes to the -01D version, perhaps you should upgrade and see if the clears the problem.

No trouble making here, just the bearer of bad news ;) Looks like the R owners will have to wait for the -01E version....

I wonder what those who have or are getting the 1250 bore kit are going to do. I suppose Gill's box or a PCIII are their only current alternatives.

Yes!!!!!!
The delar had to flash my ECM.... They said it lost who it was........

BS, I think there is a problem with the upgrade.

I also have a problem with the data mode section, When you go to down load data from the bike, you get this message. Connecting - ALDL No PCM Sync Recycling....

It's not the bike! It is with the upgrade. I have an 2002 vrsca and I got the same error with my bike. The dealar said that the ECM lost who it was....

New flash and the Race Tuner talked to the bike......

New problem the data mode works 1/2 way.

test com OK
get ecm info OK
clear DTC,s OK
Get DTC.s OK

Com port OK

when you go to record data, Start button the system gives the following error..

Connecting - ALDL

No PCM Sync Recycling.......
No PCM Sync Recycling....... 1
No PCM Sync Recycling....... 2

on and on and on and on

There is a software issue and or program issue.

i have a stock 2002 vrsca
stock ECM before flash upgrade
new race tuner
I think the tuner works on a 2002 vrsca and the data collection should work on this bike. RIGHT? If now some one help me understand. Thanks!

vrod2k2,

This is the VRSCR section so comments in this thread refer ONLY to the VRSCR. The Race Tuner of any version should have no trouble reading the 2002 ECM UNLESS the dealer replaced the ECM with the 2005 part number (which is their only option form this point on as the older ECMs are no longer available)

If you have the '05 ECM in an older bike you will need at least V4.1.0 (-01C) to be able to read or write to it.

THe Race Tuner was new out of box right off the parts dept. shelf. My Service Manager said he will get a call into the Tech Line as soon as he gets in Tuesday Morning.
The Bike is all back together with the Big Bore complete, except for the CVO map from the Race Tuner to use as a base line and for the tuning. :bash:

I understand that but posting issues on non-VRSCR bikes in this section will get lost in the shuffle.

If you have the stock '02 ECM and the race tuner is having trouble reading it then that's a different issue than trying to communicate with the '06 ECM.

Your issues are important and interesting, please post the symptons and ultimate resolution in the EFI forum so it's easier to locate when someone does a search.

BTW, I'm sorry if I offended you, that wasn't the intent.

Well, the Race Tuner is working. the shop had to trick the Tuner with an old VIN from an '05. Stupid Tuner thinks the ECM is on a VRSCB, little does it know that it down loaded to a very mean 1250 "R"..........hehehehe

Moral of the story boys and girls, the Tuner can work on a Street Rod, just not with the Street Rod's VIN.

Did they go in with the Digital Tech and reset the VIN. I can't think of any other way. If they did then that's why Gill couldn't do it, he doesn't have access to that technology.....

Glad you got it working, I'm 100% sure you will be happier than with a piggyback system. :thumb:
