Anybody seen this clock before?
62949-02
I do a lot of touring & a lot of commuting on my bikes. I like having a clock so I know if I'm running late/behind schedule, as my wristwatch is usually covered by my gauntlets.
I ordered this clock to go on my S-Rod, but thinking about the gauge cluster, I'm concerned that I won't be able to see it.
Can anyone tell me if they think they'd be able to see this on their left handlebar controls with a full-face helmet on?
Thanks

Hey Speedy818,
I have this clock on my VRSCB and it looks pretty good. I'm not sure how the fit would be on the R, but it works pretty well on the B. I had the dealer install it and they made it even with the switch cluster. So its not a direct line of sight, but I'm still able to see it day or night with a full face helmet. I suppose if you wanted to adjust it for a direct line of sight you could, but then it would be at a slightly different angle than the switches. I attached the best picture I have of it. I hope this helps.

I got the LCD Clock for x-mas, still haven't put it on because I don't have the aux. housing. I ordered it Friday, still waiting for the call from the dealer to pick it up. I think it will be a nice feature to have, I don't wear a watch, and Im sick of pulling my cell phone out at red lights just to see what time it is.

Thanks guys.
What about people with a Street Rod? I know the angles are weird with the handlebars.

I haven't had that problem. The only time mine has been off was when I flattened the battery this winter (Operator error). Other than that it has worked beautifully.
Thanks for the link though as I really like the idea of using the empty spot on the top for another switch. I think when I finally get around to having some LED's installed I will have them wire the on/off switch there.

Yep, since the clock already has a fused constant power supply, I just spliced into the red clock wire as the constant power
+ lead. I then ran one extra wire through the bars and connected it to the other end of the switch. The extra wire serves as the lead that runs to all my leds. Very clean.

This is all great information - somehow I thought that it was battery operated. (Shows what I know).
Any R riders out there with an idea on if I should even bother though?
Thanks

I have an A model and I'm using a handlebar mounted , battery powered clock. It has a half shell type billet mounting cup that attached to the bars with a tiny set screw. Since the V-Rod bars are not 100% rounded, the mount sits up a little but it still looks good, it's secure and it was only $40. If your interested, I'll take a picture of it and send it along with ordering info....

I had something like that on my XL1200R - Still have it, in fact. Problem was - coming home at night, it wasn't backlit. I thought that having the blue LED would make a nice glow - and then I'd get the BlueGauges done to my pod so everything would match really nicely. I'm getting the aux switch housings for both sides. Whichever side doesn't get the clock (if I get it), is going to get some custom buttons done at a local car audio place so I can have remote controls for my MP3 player that I normally keep in my coat pocket. It's nice to have some tunes to ride with - and you don't need a bagger to have them - mostly I want the handlebar controls for volume, pause & track forward/back.
