Does the Sundownder lower the seat height? That would be a good thing for me. I had a Sundowner on my '04 "B" and loved it, now looking at getting it for the "R". Help...........

I used the Sundowner for a couple of weeks. I felt like it actually elevated the seat height very slightly. I didn't measure the seat, but it seemed like I was stretching a bit more when pushing the bike around. It was no more comfortable than the stock seat, so I went back to stock.

Hmm,

I tried the Sundowner for one day and went back to the original because it was no more comfortable and I couldn't justify the extra $175. I, however, felt that I could stand flat footed better with the Sundowner. The reason is that it pushes you further forward and is also narrower in front than the stock seat. If seat height is an issue, I would at least try the Sundowner, it might be all you need to make the R comfortable for you to ride.
